I designed some incredibly cheap, 3d printed adjustable bearing races that allow you to adjust the internal diameter of the bearing, allowing for a very precise fitment on axles/shafts. Super easy to make, and extremely handy to have around.

That's a pretty clever way to adjust it. The only thing I'd be worried about is the strength aspect of the plastic, since the weight of heavy loads will have a type of "wedging" force on the bearing 'seam' there. Perhaps you could *carefully* glue the bearings together on the inside where they touch and/or have a wrap that gets glued around the frame to permanently hold it together once you have the adjustment dialed it. What's the angle of the taper on the bearing interior?

For sure! I designed it as a proof of concept, I would make the races out of steel if I were making it for a project. The taper is 45 degrees, and a way to hold it together is definitely a good idea

@@Neally Thanks. Very impressed with your stuff, new subscriber. Did you mean for tightening the screws to be able to adjust the internal diameter of the bearing? Or was that a happy accident/properties of a 3d printed enclosure? Your HHO torch + your lathe is begging to do some scientific glass blowing. check this ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-894WGTfxDFc.html

The adjustable I.D. was initially my goal with the design! I needed a bearing that would conform perfectly to whatever driveshaft I'm using. And thank you! I appreciate it🤘 Also: this link should work -> www.thingiverse.com/thing:5215410

@@Neally Let me know as well. I've messed with making my own bearings, though much smaller.
