This African Black Rebatch Soap is made by melting down Luxury Rebatch and African Black Soap Crumbles from Baraka Shea Butter.
Rebatch soap is a great way to avoid working with lye, and still get all the great skin benefits of cold process soap. It can be made in a crock pot, double boiler, or on the stove over medium heat. The exact amount of water you use is up to you. The more water that is added, the smoother your soap will be. But it will require more cure time to allow the excess water to evaporate.

The African Black Rebatch Crumbles are sourced from Baraka Shea Butter. They're made with raw shea butter, coconut oil, and cocoa pod ash, using techniques passed down through generations. Because it is a natural product, there is variation in the color and texture. Some of the crumbles are soft, while other pieces are hard and brittle. Some bits will not fully melt down in the rebatch. This is completely fine, but those bits can be removed from your batch if you prefer.

If you dissolve the African black soap first in very warm distilled water, then add it to the rebatch, it will work out a little better. ABS dissolves beautifully in warm/hottish water.

African black soap can be very drying so you'll need a very good moisturiser afterward Melting black soap, DO NOT leave it will bubble over very quickly. ALWAYS use a bigger pot The soap has a squeaky clean feel afterward Add water a little at a time, it might not melt but the bubble will go over if you don't watch it Use medium heat

Kudos for supporting women cooperatives 💗. I've been using African Black Soap exclusively on my skin for 5 years and I swear by it. Over the years, I've recommended it to so many people from adults struggling with eczema and mothers whose babies have a rash. I love that you can use it as shampoo, face and body soap.

I like Kimberly’s response about adding water to the crumbles first and I am considering the idea of reducing the crumble size prior to working with it. Since it is already soap once reduced it should work well in MP soap … Let me know what you think … Making this up as I go along👩🏽

VERY new soap "maker" here! I just rebatched some of my favorite African black soap yesterday (an awesome turmeric and oatmeal blend) by adding rice water and a little extra mango butter--I'm planning on using it as a shampoo bar. I was nervous about the amount of water I had to add to get the soap malleable, as well as the fact that the soap is still soft after 24 hours (some sites claimed that was enough for rebatching). Watching this video (and hearing that it will take 4 - 7 days in the mold alone!) was extremely comforting and reassuring! I'll be good and leave the soap alone for another week.🤞🏽Thank you for sharing!

Question🙋‍♀️ why does this need 4-7 days of cure(?) time before unmolding when it's technically already soap, whereas cold process freshly made only need max 72hrs (from what I've gathered) before it can be popped out?
@bramble-berry
@bramble-berry 2 года назад
The extra moisture from the added water can leave the soap a little soft, so we like to let it dry a little more before cutting.

Hello, this is satisfying. I made a soap that crumbles, i guess the quantity of oil i added was short of whats on the recipe. Its almost 4 weeks i made it and now, i want to rebatch which is the reason i searched for a rebatch video on your channel and now seeing this..... Im thinking of adding the oil i skipped in my rebatch while using this African black soap. What to do think?
@bramble-berry
@bramble-berry 3 месяца назад
If your soap has already been saponified there is no way to add additional oil to the recipe and fix it. You can absolutely do rebatch with your soap, but if what you have is drying or irritating to the skin we would recommend starting from scratch.
@mirianugochi8518
@mirianugochi8518 3 месяца назад
Oh, what do I do with the soap then? I don't like the fact that it crumbles . I haven't used it to know if it irritates the skin. It's my first soap ever, made from your video on soap making for beginners. I didn't get the quantity of the olive oil correctly hence the oil was short. I am planning to do a rebatch to add the missing oil but you said I can't add oil in the rebatch. What do you advise I do with the soap please?

It's similar, but rebatch uses scraps of cold process soaps and you melt them down slowly with added water rather than using a soap base with added glycerin designed to melt easily.
