I think anyone with an even minimal amount of fairness in judgement would have to admit that the Japanese are thousands of years ahead of the Western nations in refinement and culture. We in the West are but crass in comparison. Shame on us. We have achieved many great achievements in science etc. But in terms of culture we are still but one step out of the Dark Ages.

Art is very good, but killing the plants like sin.

Yes, it is beautiful. But I can hear the plants screaming with pain and bleeding... This is totally against the nature of the flowers and plants. Nothing connected to the true teaching of Buddhism. My father was good at Bonsai, Bonsai takes years to train the plants to grow. Though it is still not flow With nature as buddhism teaches, it at least works with nature in patience. This way of using tenons and joints in living plants is like a quick fix of good carpentry on a living plant, not dead wood. Beautiful but my heart ached and bled when I saw those metal pins went through the guts of the fragile daffodils..... sorry, as an Asian who knows buddhism and appreciates years of patience in Bonsai. This looks like a killing field producing fast food to me.... can’t you patiently find branches in the mountain and work around its shapes??? Not bending and moulding nature with a fixed blue print of your desire like the inventors of plastics?? No wonder it works for people who do not have real connections to nature. I am sorry! I cannot appreciate beauty created in this way. I will not sit in a room feeling peaceful where the plants went through such torture. The music is a drug to minimize the pain.....
