This is a new type of workflow we've been trying out with our machine. We love how it can step in for any tool in your shop if you don't have them or if they are out of commission.
Comment which board is your favorite (1= walnut, 2= tricolor offset pattern, 3= tricolor diagonal pattern)! Also, let us know any tips you have or any ideas you'd like to see tried on our CNC!

I really love number 3. Not only for the looks of it, although it really is eye catching, but the way you can use the cnc to do layout directions and or shapes that is not easy with conventional methods.

When cutting strips on the table saw, it is possible to be sort of pushing with your left hand too much towards the fence instead of maintaining steady pressure and that can cause your strips to slightly taper thinner as you go. Happens to me making end grain all the time.

An easy way to get the stagger look is to make a thinner strip on one side of the board, when you cut and flip to alternate it will be even length on both sides but it will offset your strips and make a nice easy pattern. There is less waste that way also.

I have read this several times and still don't get it...downside of being a visual person I guess.

I have had the same issue with my table saw previously, it didn't matter that I made sure my fence was parrallel to the blade or the mitre channel. In the end it turned out that the blade was not parallel to the mitre channel and I had to unbolt the table and realign it with the blade. Now I don't have the same issue as the timber walking away from the fence that I used to. Was a lot of mucking around but had to be done.

have u tried the superglue and activator method for holding stuff down. eliminates the need for clamps, then you can machine the whole surface of your boards without clamps being in the way

We used to primarily use woodworking double sided tape, but it failed us too many times to rely on it. Haven't tried this method yet but have seen many people do it successfully, will definitely give it a try next time!

Sounds like your table saw fence isn't square to your blade. Fairly easy fix. Just google your table saw model and fence alignment. That should sort you out! Great looking boards BTW.

Automating woodworking "art" with computerized machines is just lame.
