After around 3 hours of looking for vids at 3 am to get a server up, I came across this masterpiece. I have gone through pain, suffering even. Although this doesn't go into how to get your friends to join, I believe that may be the easy part.
After HOURS of suffering and constant migraines, I've found the best video that describes how to set up a server and add workshop related items and maps without describing the process in the most complicated way possible or making you pay for some stupid hosting server scam...... I noticed an issue with the batch script where it automatically tries to mount to an Unturned folder and a steamcmd folder in the C drive, but I had my installation in the D drive. All I had to do was change the .bat to a .txt and change the drives to D and then revert it back to a .bat and it works great. Great tutorial thanks for the help.
PSA: in the workshop folder for steam workshop all you have to do is find the workshop ID of that map and find the same folder with the title as that ID. (sorry if i didnt explain correctly, tldr find the right id for the right map) (nvm i didnt look closely in the video) sorry
It keep's saying like "Unturned has closed or crashed restarting" "???????" "Unturned has started" repeat and it's not creating the collection of folder's when i run the updater
My pc and my browser detected a threatening file which does not allow me to download, feels like without those downloaded files my server works fine with even updates
does anyone know ow to fix the issue of when you set a map it will say "Successfully set map to Washington !" then when the server is near done loading it will say "Failed to find map Washington , Defaulting to PEI !" ive tried making a new server and reinstalling both the server tool and unturned its self idk what to do, help. Btw it does this for every map i choose ive tried many things but cant fix it the server works but only on PEI
Hey, My Friends Cannot Join The Server, I Port Forwarded And Everything Which I Also Do Not Have A Starting/Ending Port, Only A External/Internal. Anyway They Could Not "Find The Server"
i have 3 issue, problem, trouble or whatever is it when making a server using this method 1. my friend cannot find the server when i give em my server IP & PORT, even they cannot join when i ask em to join via steam profile (there is "join game" menu on it) 2. i cannot make myself as admin even i add "owner my steam id" on commands.dat, just because i want to use free cam, because i make this server only for making parody video with my friend 3. i cannot spawn anything (vehicle, item, weapon, everything), i already set "Cheats enable" which is it make people can cheats or spawn something what they need example "/give 122" when i try to spawn it, it just become a chat bar, not cheat commands
Hi i got a question everything is working except for the starter.bat, it takes for ever to load and then keeps on repeating "Warning, unturned has closed or crashed. Restarting" what should i do?
Everything is with the server is working fine, I can join from local host. However when I join from my IP it doesnt work, so friends can't join. I've port forwarded and everything. I have no idea why it's not working
If you can join it your self then the issue is from port forwarding wrongly. I suggest to use different methods and you can try joining yourself by putting your ip instead of localhost. A secure server just means its protected by anti cheat. Any server is open to internet as long as you port forward.
Before my Unturned opened normally, after i opened the starter.bat, my unturned when i open it on steam, it opens like the starter.bat. What should i do?
i know im kinda late, but can you do like full tutorial on how to put more mods in the server , or to upgrade/change the server, also change drop rate for stuff, for plugins like /home and /tpa and etc.
so what do I have to do after I port forwarded and the server is running as shown in ur videos, cuz I cant join on it with my public IP, only by 'localhost' or the internal Ipv4 SO HOW COULD MY FRIENDS JOIN ME OVER THE INTERNET?
hey, i know i probably wont get a reply, but when i use the updater bat file. it will say "the system cannot find the path specified. your unturned server is up to date. press any key to confirm" and it dosnt make the folders, did i do something wrong and is there any way to get it to wrok?
"lost connection to host or steam network" while trying to connect both by server list or connecting directly (ip thing) found a single post about it where the guy has the same problem, he gave up on it after nothing working and low morale do you have any tips? anything will be appreciated
Are you typing in "save" into the cmd prompt before closing it? You can see if player data is being saved under: Unturned>Servers>server>Players There should be a bunch of folders with all the steam id's of people who have been playing on the server. (If you are saving)
