PRINTABLE RECIPE: 🖨️thestayathomec... 🖨️
🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴
✅Ingredients
• 2 vine ripe tomatoes, diced
• 5 fresh basil leaves, chiffonade
• 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, divided
• 1/2 tsp dried oregano
• Pinch salt
• 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
• 1 Italian style baguette, sliced
• 1 whole clove garlic
✅Instructions
00:00:18 - Dice tomatoes and chiffonade basil
1️⃣ 00:00:25 - Combine the diced tomato with fresh basil, dried oregano, a pinch of salt, 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil, oregano, a pinch of salt, and a splash (1 teaspoon) of balsamic vinegar. Chill.
2️⃣ 00:01:18 - Slice the baguette into 1/4 to 1/2 inch slices. Cut off the end of the garlic clove and rub the garlic onto each side of each piece of bread. Drizzle both sides of the sliced bread with a little olive oil (or use a brush to brush it on).
3️⃣ 00:02:03 - Toast on a grill or in a hot skillet until browned on both sides.
4️⃣ 00:02:36 - Top hot bread with cold tomato bruschetta and serve immediately.

If you cut a piece of garlic and rub it onto the bread as the bread comes hot off of the pan instead of before you toast, it's absolutely heavenly. You get a hint of garlic flavor instead of a full garlicky flavor. The flavors are balanced and not one flavor is overpowering the others.

I think your supposed to rub the garlic clove on toasted bread so that the toast acts as sort of a grater. With soft bread don't even bother rubbing the clove because it's not going to get in, also you should squeze some garlic into the tomato mix. Hmmm, I guess being The Stay at Home Chef you don't get out much... Nice anyway 💋...
