Here's my instructional video on how to make this classic Beef Chow Fun! Growing up my mom always made sure to order this whenever we went out for Chinese and it's still one of my favorite stir fry noodles.
I used fresh rice noodles but you can always buy dry ones as well.
Ingredients:
1 pack of fresh wide rice noodles (24 oz) or dry noodles
3/4 lb eye of round beef
1/2 white onion sliced
handful of bean sprouts
5 green onions cut in quarters
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp minced ginger
1 tsp cornstarch
1/4 tsp baking soda
2 tbsp soy sauce
Sauce:
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tsp brown sugar (ok to sub with white granulated sugar)
1 tbsp water
Instructions:
1. Prepare your noodles. If using fresh noodles, microwave with a wet towel on top for 2-4 minutes or until noodles are soft. Let it cool then separate.
2. Prepare sauce by combining all ingredients together and set aside.
3. Prepare your veggies listed in the ingredients list and set aside.
4. Slice your beef into thin slices then marinate with 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp cornstarch and 1/4 tsp baking soda.
5. Heat vegetable oil in a wok on medium high heat. Add in your white onions, garlic and ginger then stir fry till the onions are soft.
6. Add in beef and stir fry until the beef is about 90% done.
7. Add in noodles and sauce. Mix and coat everything well with sauce.
8. Add in the bean sprouts and green onions. Stir fry until they are soft and cooked.
9. Serve and enjoy! Add some chili oil or sriracha if you want an extra spicy kick!
