@@thighg8744 is it though? That is assuming two things: - It is impossible for a Starbucks employee to be deeply knowledgeable about coffee - former employees of Starbucks can’t get in depth mentorship and development after leaving Starbucks I would say both of those assumptions are deeply flawed
@@AaronAubreyPhoto the bianca isnt a 5k machine bro, its 2k - and lelit offers machines for around 500€ as well - combined with a g-iota grinder thats a very capable setup 👀
In my experience everyone does it a Bit differently but you should Put the Coffee into your Shaker with the ice immedeately Shake and Drink fresh. The Coffee wont Melt all the ice so dont worry about changing anything
If you're talking specifically about iced coffee and not cold brew search the phrase "Japanese style iced coffee". Basically you brew your coffee directly on to the ice and account for the dilution as the ice melts. If you're talking about cold brew search the phrase "hot bloom" to learn some tips on how to extract a wider range of flavors. That should be the only time hot water touches a cold brew. Another term to seach involving cold brew would be the "Kyoto style" but that involves some extra equipment.
i bought a Staresso Pro. It's manual, portable, and it's inexpensive. about $100. There is a $60 Staresso but I would advise against it. Mine has 20 bars of pressure. Most machines are about 9 bars. I also have a Kuerig cafe, but it does not make authentic espresso
I would get the Delonghi Dedica Arte. In the Uk it goes for a reasonable £250. In the US it goes for between 250 and 300 dollars, based on my research.
So nice video and I could understand all you’ve said! :-) (not everyone in here is American). What’s the manufacture / model of that beautiful machine? Thanks PS: part II, please! 👏
Question, at work we use a double spouted porta filter for our machine. But we need a triple shot one now. Do you think if matters if i switch to a flat portafilter aslong as it hold the 21grams fro the triple?
Great videos, I really enjoy the whole process but there are several people in my home that all like different types of drinks. My trips to starbucks is a mess. Can you or anyone here recommend a affordable super automatic machine that pulls a good shot and one thst will last more than 5 times. Thank you.
We want to open a small coffee stand at my church 😊 what’s an affordable coffee machine we can start with? What are some basic coffee recipes we can start with? ☕️🧋☕️🧋☕️🧋
Why would I want crema? Also, the puck screen does actually very little to distribute the water, but it is good for keeping the showerhead clean, that is true.
No, puck screen don't make you evenly distribute water , it's only for ... Don't know what's for , because coffee tend to get back to shower screen and you don't do anything to make it happen. Physics
There's no specific weight, just push until the grinds don't go down anymore. Applying force past that is pointless and can cause injury in the long run.
It depends. He weighed out 18g of beans, so you would typically see 36-40 grams of coffee. 18-22 grams will get you a ristretto, 55-60 will get you a lungo. Don't get too hung up on numbers, though. The most important part is that you get to your desired weight within the 25-30 second mark and that the end result tastes good. Happy brewing😁
gotta say, comparing your vid to the other espresso video ive seen on here, i applaud you for being not full of yourself and giving actually useful advice beyond “buy indate coffee beans”
From a roaster. Find one that is close to you, and they will have freshly ground coffee. Trust me, after switching from store bought off the shelf coffee to freshly roasted its a world of difference. Doesn’t even need to be expensive, just fresh
Not every espresso is the same. If you like to have a more precise espresso these definitely help but not necessary. It's the same with everything else in life.
So the WDT makes a much larger difference in the final product than I ever thought it would. I always thought it was a gimmick but I recently tried it and yeah. Not sure if I think a puck screen is worth it I didn't really notice a difference but WDT for sure and weighing definitely give you more consistency.
if you want to try a littlwe fun tastyng ezpirience try tasting a shot like you do normally and one with a paper filter on the bottom. it has stupid good clarity
vermutlich weil die meisten cafes keinen per definition guten espresso verkaufen. guckt man sich wettkämpfe an, sieht man auch all diese tools. sogar noch weitaus mehr tricks und tools - es ist ein teufelskreis! :D
Equipment matters too, grinders matter most in terms of how it affects the flavour of a bean. If you can, try and get a bottomless filter and see if your extractions are bad. If it’s neither of these, it’s probably your beans, or you just dont like the taste of espresso. Try your local specialty cafes and compare them to yours.
@@varrelxx I did get a bottomless and the extraction looks about the same as what I see. I think I don’t like the taste lol. It’s just when I see videos saying “I taste hints of chocolate, grapes, and other fruits” I’m just thinking wow, what the hell am I drinking?!
@@Ashhong1 What people mean is that it reminds them of these things. At the end of the day it's coffee and it tastes like coffee, all the other 'notes' are subtle by comparison. You can also experiment with the roast, darkly roasted coffee will usually be less "fruity" than a light or medium roast.
@@Ashhong1 Usually, coffees are evaluated professionally through “cupping.” It usually happens by comparison too, so they would be cupping more than one coffee to taste the difference. Tasting coffee through espresso is a little harder and most espresso has the same general taste. Dont be upset if you can’t get the “notes” while sipping espresso, as only experienced coffee drinkers or professionals could tell. Try comparing with a milk-based drink first. I like to go to cafes and order cortados to see if I like their beans.
@Asher so everyone who has ever worked in anything, regardless of being good at it, is a professional (if they got paid for it) ? Interesting train of thought.
I never heard James Hoffman saying “professional barista” on his youtube channel, I wish you become better than the professional baristas, dont get me wrong But saying this about ur self is not nice, how ever, it is ur choice
Nothing wrong with just making a coffee without putting in a lot of effort, but there is also nothing wrong with taking extra steps to get the most out of your favorite coffee. You do you, and let other people do what they want.
