So you want to start making youtube videos or record your bike rides but you don't know where to start, well then this video is for you! We will be covering what you need and how to film them so you can make quality videos.
The first thing we are going to cover is the tools that you need:
Action cameras: Action cameras are small, lightweight, and durable, making them perfect for filming bike rides. They can be mounted on your helmet, bike, or body, and they often have features like image stabilization and waterproofing. I use a Gopro hero 4. This is not the best gopro but it was what I could get my hands on.
Smartphones: Most smartphones now have high-quality cameras that can be used to film bike rides. The advantage of using a smartphone is that you always have it with you, and it's easy to share your videos with others.
Tripods: Tripods are a great way to keep your camera steady when filming bike rides. This can be especially helpful if you are using a DSLR camera or a camcorder.
Some way to edit your video: There are many ways to edit your video. If you have a Mac, you can use iMovie, which is a great option for beginners. It's easy to use and has a variety of features, including the ability to add titles, transitions, and music. You can also use Final Cut Pro, which is a more powerful editing software but is more difficult to learn. If you have a PC, you can use Windows Movie Maker, which is a free editing software that comes with Windows. You can also use Adobe Premiere Pro, which is a professional editing software that is available for both Mac and PC.
Now let's talk about how to film your rides:
Bring a friend along: A friend can help you film and add another perspective to your videos in many ways. They can help you with the technical aspects of filming, such as setting up the camera and lighting. They can also help you with the creative aspects of filming, such as coming up with ideas for shots and angles. Additionally, a friend can provide another perspective on the subject of your video, which can add depth and interest. Overall, having a friend will help you film your videos and can be a great way to improve the quality of your videos and make the process more enjoyable.
Strap your action camera to your helmet or chest: This is a great way to get first-person shots, which are one of my favorite angles. It allows the viewer to feel like they are right there with the rider, experiencing the scene firsthand.
Set up another camera or the same one to get a second angle: set up your iPhone or action camera on a tripod or other stable surface. If you are using a tripod, make sure that it is secure and that the camera is level.
Now here are just a few editing tips for your bike videos:
-Use titles and captions to provide context and information.
-Trim out any unnecessary footage to keep your video timely and interesting. Be ruthless when editing your videos. Use only the best of the best footage.
-Add slow-motion and fast-motion effects to create a more dynamic video.
-Use filters and color correction to improve the look of your video.
-Add music to create a more engaging experience for your viewers.
-Export your video in a high-quality format to ensure that it looks its best on all devices.
-If you fall off your bike or have to do a roadside repair put that in your video and consider that footage gold.
This video was the toughest video to make so far but I enjoyed it alot!
