I believe that a different way to make treacle is to boil fruit juice until the fruit juice is thick and brown. For example, we could boil pear juice or apple juice, juice of currant, blueberry juice, or rhubarb juice. In this video, they made black treacle from boiling white refined sugar with water. However, when a person boils fruit juice, then nobody has to spend 40 hours per week working in a sugar refinery in order to make the white granulated sugar. Treacle from juice of sugar cane is also possible.
