HOW TO MAKE CAM CLAMPS
here is a link to a plan. I use something like this to make a lose variations of mine

these clamps are perfect for luthier.
I'd suggest when you are making your first set, make all your cuts for however many you plan to make, but glue one at a time because it is a tricky glue up for a novice.

Thank you. Yes.. these ones are pretty slick looking. The others I made were more or less utilitarian grade. I spent no time on esthetics. Cheers

Gracias Todas las piezas que corté tienen media pulgada de grosor, excepto las piezas en el centro de la pieza que se deslizan hacia arriba y hacia abajo. Las piezas en la parte superior de la abrazadera deben hacerse un poco más gruesas para permitir que se deslice hacia arriba y hacia abajo por la barra de la abrazadera. Saludos

Great video! I’ve been keeping an eye out for this one ever since you asked if anyone would be interested. Did not disappoint. Btw, what kind of wax did you use?

Graham! How are you?. It took me a while but I did it..🤣 So the finish is roughly 50% local beeswax and 50% mineral oil mixed together over a little heat.. but between you and me I wouldn't have used it on the bar the rest of the clamp is fine, These clamps function on a certain amount of wood on wood friction to work correctly. So lessons learned avoid the bar. But it sure dose make the grain pop dosen't it? Cheers and thanks for watching 🍻

How about the center piece is also 1/2" thick but you just sand the adjustment bar a bit?

You can certainly sand it if it doesn't work perfectly, but the piece that I laminated on the top of the clamp that slides up and down is definitely a hair thicker then the bar. If you're in the process of making them let me know how they turn out.👍 Cheers

I don't have a table saw, so I have to purchase pre-thicknessed wood, i.e., 1/2" I made six clamps with just hand tools (coping saw) in 1982 from plans by Irving Sloane in his book, Steel String Guitar Construction. Thank you for sharing your video. @@mjlrestorationshop.2405
