I'm a young black male, and I am very determined to enter into this field of business. Candles have been a high interest of mine for a while, and they serve many purposes for me. Your videos are not only positive, but they are encouraging too. The fact that you share all of your successes, your failures, and your tips/advice is a testimony to who you are. I hope your business flourishes beyond your own expectations! Definitely deserve it! We appreciate you!

Thank You so much for this video. I am a disabled 64 year old. I spend 90% of my time alone. I started DIY projects to have something to do. I make Body Scrubs, Body Polishes, and now Candles to give as Gifts. You answered so many questions. One question that I have concerns my heat wax candle. I made a wax for it and now I can't remember what I did (I have plaque on the brain). I know that I used a good Fragrance Oil but I don't know how to do it. Scents help to calm my Anxiety more than any medication. Thanks again and I am a new FAN and will be watching every one (1) of your videos that I can find.

I normally read the fragrance oil description on it's website just in case. Check to see what the manufacturer suggests that you add regarding percentage. I normally start with 10% Fragrance load.

She is correct about experimenting. I only made three candles so far and started to wonder how many will I have to make to get it right. One problem I noted is related to the "Dye." I put in way too much and I read that can definitely hurt the Scent. I loved it when she said, Be Patient and Don't Give Up. Especially when she said, "Anyone Can Make a Candle." Those words pumped me up. Thanks Miss Boss !!!

Helpful tip: coconut appricot wax should be heated to at least 200. Ideally between 200 and 215. FO should be added immediately because coconut needs to be hotter in order for the FO to completely bind with the wax which in turn requires less mixing (about 1 min) You can find this info on most supplier websites 😊 Hope this helps! ❤️
@Ayooonesh
@Ayooonesh 2 года назад
What if the flashpoint of the fragrance is lower?
@TCSR
@TCSR 2 года назад
@@Ayooonesh The flashpoint of candle is the temperature at which point the FO becomes combustible if exposed to a spark or flame. The flashpoint is generally only important for those making gel candles and for determining shipping methods. So you don't have to worry about your flashpoint when adding it to your wax 😊
@Ayooonesh
@Ayooonesh 2 года назад
@@TCSR OMG thank you!!! I've been doing this all wrong lol. I was told it was the temperature at which the fragrance burns off 😭
@TCSR
@TCSR 2 года назад
@@Ayooonesh nope! Your FO won't burn off. That's a myth 😊 certain waxes need to be heated to a higher temp so that the FO can properly bind. If you were shipping the FO itself, then I would focus on the flashpoint.

Yeah I can not stress enough to people to let the candles cure. I made a side batch and let them cure for 1 month, 4 months, 6 & over a year and the ones that have been sitting longer are so strong still on cold throw and hot. I always run 10% F.O on all my candles now and it helps tremendously.

@cturner0088 3 года назад
Yeah I've also noticed if you buy cheaper fragrance oils they tend to not do as well as some that cost a little bit more. Which I am pretty picky about where I buy my fragrance oils from. I usually buy from candle science,the flaming candle co & lonestar candle co. They offer a wide variety of Bath & Body scents, Victoria Secret along side of many designer fragrances such as men & women cologne/perfume. I started off with GW 464 & GW 444 wax and was pleased with scent throw. So I decided to try out IGI 6006 and have stuck with it every since. Sometimes I tend to still add some of them GW soy waxes to the IGI 6006 to give it a good scent throw, but also allowing it to be a little bit more clean burning. Some people still think the 6006 throws a bit more black smoke but very limited. I tell them it's no more than your average B&BW,Yankee,White Barn or even Wood Wick candles. You have to weigh out the pros & cons of what you would like to achieve from your candles.

@@rsena2119 I've never used coconut wax to be honest. I have always used soy wax or soy blend waxes. I usually use tumbler jars to make my candles. Some people warm the jars up in the oven before they pour the wax. When I use GW 444 or 464 soy wax I heat it up to around 180°F at that point I will add my color chips

I've been working at a body shop for a bit now and extra tips I learned was if you're painting the door, it's better to take off the mirror and belt molding (the trim at the bottom of the window) for a better paint job in the end. The mirror can get in the way, and if you're unlucky, the clear coat could stick in that gap between the door and the belt molding.

Candle making is a process. No electricity candles are very necessary. Wicks come in different widths and I made it and burned it in the same day. I wondered how to really make real candles. So I will binge watch to find out if this thing is for me😊

You are so awesome for making these videos! I use a coconut blend and I’ve been experimenting. It definitely needs to be up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit for FO to be added.

Great advice! I'm new at making candles and your video have helped me the most. The information you gave was so helpful and informative. You explained everything so well. You answered the questions i had about making the scent stronger in my candles and the wax. When you said trust the process and wait 2 weeks before lighting the candles. WOW!!! that was awesome because I had never heard anyone say that in others videos. God bless you and your business. Thank you so much and I'm going to watch this again and take notes this time 😆. One day I'm going to own a at home Candle Making Business!!! I am so excited. Yes I did subscribe so I can receive ALL your videos. ❤ 🙏🏾 🙌🏾
