Welcome every one, todays video is a tutorial on how i create soy candles with 464 golden soy wax.
Its a great wax to work with but you need to know your process to get a smooth top on your candles.
Have you ever be totally frustrated with 464, i have and i get lots of questions on how i get that finish so below is a rough process i use that works for me but i have also added candle Science link that is super handy.
"Make sure you have all the candle containers and vessels ready prior to starting"
I will be talking in farenheit temp as that is what i use but i will also convert below.
1. Place wax in the slow cooker on low until is reaches 185 F (85C)
2. Take wax off the heat and place in a container at 185F (85C) and add in the fragrance (no more than 10% load) as that is the maximum for 464.
3. Add in your wax dye shavings if you are adding colours and stir untill it is disolved. (i said add in to WATER but im sorry i mis worded it - I mean add into the WAX.
4. Add the fragrance in at 180 - 185 F and stir for 3 minutes slowly
5. Pour into jars at 145 F (62C) (Candle science says 135F but for me i like to pour at 145F - 150F)
6. leave is for several hours to do its magic.
7. 12 hours later i cut the wick (dont do it if the jar is warm as this may move the wax)
8. Leave to cure for 5-14 days.

@NelsonInteriorSoapery
@NelsonInteriorSoapery 3 года назад
Please give it a go. I had honestly 100s of bad ones until I worked on my process. Also make sure you really pay attention to the temperature as that’s the most important. When you check temperature make sure you give the wax a mix as the temp on top differs from what’s below. As I say in the video, write down what you did so you can do it right each time and I make mine when no one is around so I can be sure in the process. This month alone I think I’ve sold around $1800 in candles at markets so once you master it you will be fine. All of mine burn well to and I’ve had no complaints at all
