I'm glad they're back, but it's sad that a candy named by and for one of the oldest confectionary companies in the United States is now made in Mexico. The flavor is still great, but it feels like I'm eating the end of an era. Bittersweet. Edit: I've no problem with Mexico or anyone of Latinx ethnicity. I simply mean that I find it sad because it feels a bit less personal, like... if I lived in Boston, I couldn't ride a bike from my apartment, down an old-fashioned cobbled street, to the New England Confectionary Company anymore.

I love candy cigarettes too. They still make them. You can order them online or buy them at a local corner store

I get them at the gas station on my street sometimes! They're alive and well and as delicious as ever!

Remember the bubblegum cigarettes? They were wrapped in paper & we'd give one puff out, blowing the powder out. It only worked for one "puff" but it looked like smoke. (I never smoked either, just had fun pretending)

They actually do still make candy cigarettes. I’m able to buy them here in my small town

Necco is no longer a thing. Though their candies will be made by a different manufacturer and will return in 2020. Still a long time 😞

Plus the remaining necco wafers out there are going for ridiculous prices because of it, but waiting another two years does feel like forever so I kind of understand it.

Sure you can, I just bought a 3 pound box on Amazon from a company named Blue Monster. Granted they aren't a nickel anymore. I paid $28 for 30 rolls = 3 pounds. Considering they are getting difficult to find in stores I thought it was a fairly good deal. I love them and have loved them since I was a kid. I am now going on 68 and will still keep eating them.

Circus Peanuts and Candy Corn are also contenders for the most polarizing candies. I don't like any of them. Necco wafers should be called Sweetened Chalk Disks, Candy Corn is actually Butter Flavored Candle Drippings and Circus Peanuts are Zombie Marshmallows. As you can probably tell, I'm a really fun guy. /sarcasm

The recipe was purchased by another company and the wafers are still sold in stores , i always buy them at Dollar General and they still taste the same there's even sour Necco wafers , i prefer the original ones more than the sour ones.

I like them.... Used to get them from an elderly lady that lived across the road from us.
