If you roll the sponge when it is still warm it rolls easier and without cracking. Unroll it once it has cooled and then spread the cream and you should get a tighter roll. Looks delicious though great work :)
@@miotaka210 It can still crack then so you have to be careful. but it tends to crack less when rolled warm and unrolled cool because it wants to stay in the rolled position
That’s just needlessly complicated and only a requirement for western sponge cakes which are dry. The more you roll a cake the more you risk cracking it. Asian sponge cakes are different from western ones. Higher ratio of egg to flour makes cake more flexible so you don’t have to resort to impractical tricks like rolling a hot cake.

i like how gently playful he is in this video - it's a fun deviation from most of the calming, relaxing, mentally stimulating videos - i prefer the calmer ones, but the playfulness is a fun difference in this video
The cooking is outstanding! In addition to that, one of the BEST things about this channel is the ABSENCE of MUSIC. I CANNOT stress that enough. Every video, pertaining to any subject on the internet, it seems, includes music because they try to make it "upbeat and enjoyable" or are trying to sell you something. Let me tell you; music is the most ANNOYING thing ever. Any sort of background sound is absolutely annoying. It blurs out what is going on and is pointless distraction. The best part is the pure sound and "normalness" of what's being shown. What an absolute gem. Don't EVER change that aspect about your channel.
Loved the video! I tried your recipe but used raspberry jam instead of caramel sauce. So it was more bitter (from cocoa sponge and it's not burnt) than sweet. I believe caramel sauce pairs much better than fruit jam. Great combinations!
LOL. Playing DJ really made me laugh. I have watched this in daytime. Because when i watch it at night, i am drooling all over my keyboard. But it didn't help a bit.
