Learn how to make inexpensive molds out of polymer clay. Now you don't have to worry about using that last button or one of a kind embellishment, you can make a mold of it to use over and over again to make more! You can make rigid molds for clay scraps or flexible molds form bake and bed clay. Wow i litterally was searching the stores last night to find an affordable way to make molds. Who knew i didnt need to buy anything else i had the back n bend at home from a clearance sale two weeks ago. Thank you so much. Now to find molds for resin.

Hi Lindsay! I asked the question not to long ago asking if I could use this clay to make resin molds so I got some bake n bend clay for Christmas and I tried it and IT WORKED!!!! I coated the mold with vasiline so it wouldn't stick and thats it I am so excited I didn't even know about this type of clay until I watched your video thanks so much for sharing

This is such a great idea!! I've been wanting to make my own molds, but refuse the spend the big bucks on the product to make it with. TFS this frugal idea!!

I think it might be fused together or the clay might break. You could try with something you don't care about and see or just pop the clay in the freezer for a minute to siffen it up before remove the cast item;)

It is honeycomb but it was easy, just roll a 1/4" thick slab of clay and press it on a texture, any texture! I used a clay mat but you can use an embossing plate or even a piece of chicken wire LOL!

I'm pretty sure you can as they are flexible, you might use a mold release first though:)

probably but coat them with mold release first;)

I think you can but coat it with some glycerin before you put the glue in:)

I need to use polymer clay for my mold. I live an hour away from a Micheals and I drive a four door truck, not economical to go for some mold. Do you think if I baked the clay for less time, it would be bendy and easier to get my clay out?

no, it will crack. You can make a hard mold though, i use old scrap clays for molds, just dust with cornstartch, talc before using:)

I am sure the stamp making is idiot proof, but I would love to see a youtube just on that. Like which side of the embossind folder do you use and do you need to put like a release element on it to make sure it doesn't stick to the folder.

I think you said you use clay to make your embellishment, I would like to get a basic clay color and paint or ink them to the specific color I need is this doable and do you have any tips? Embellishments are so pricey that I try so hard to hold onto them... Thanks for sharing, I didn't even know that was an option.

I couple good clay for embellishments is Martha Stewart clay, it is cheaper to get a starter pack with the clay, moulds and tools combined and that will last you quite a while and it is light weight, it is a paper clay. Or you can get a multi-color pack of Sculpy 3 clay which is great for embellishments AND beads because you cook it in the oven and it is hard and durable. Sculpey 3 is soft to work with too. Just beware if you live in a hot climate if you have to have it shipped the clay can get baked in the truck so buy it in store if you can. If you live in a cold climate you can order online no prob:)
