I wanted to cast leaves for faux terrarium plants but didn't want to use rigid resin and had no idea what I could use to create my "plastic" plants. This video is perfect - Thanks!
Thank you , I use Acrylic sealer very easy to use keep nozzle on then put it in the freezer for about an hr take out of moulds when cold , they remain flexible.
I just love you...such a great idea...i am using normal for my projects DAS....but not all the time helping me.....and now you made my day....thank you so much
Mod Podge?! Who knew! I'll have to give that a try. I used a thin lacy mold for the 1st time the other day & used air dried clay(out of curiosity) & it did not work! lol It was a mess. Love using my IOD molds on plastic baubles for Christmas ornaments, but I've seen a lot of people using the thinner lacy molds & wanted to give it a try. Just wasn't completely sure what type of medium to use. Now I've got a couple of new ideas. Thank you!
Thank you very much for this eye-opening tutorial! I have lots of moulds from my cake decorating years and now I can use them for my crafts! Many thanks!
Thank you so much for this! I've been trying to find something really flexible that's available in the UK.....spent a fortune buying DAP from the U.S & this was literally right on my doorstep!
You are a lifesaver!! Thank you so much. Easy clear simple explanations, well done!! and thank you. Finally, someone in the UK is doing this stuff. You are a motivation to people like me on this side of the pond! Thank you, than you. I will subscribe to your channel.
Hi 🖐🏻 I’m new to your channel & new to making moulds 😊 Thank you for the great tips, I was looking for something light & bendy to use. Now a trip to my local hardware store 😂 x
Yep. He’s definitely all over the place at the moment, nothing is safe anymore. Even high up really coz he knows how to move stuff around to help him get places 😱🤣
I tried it with my modelling paste and there were too many air bubbles in it, I only kept a few of them. Think I’ll go get the silicone gun out lols. Thank you for another amazing video xxx
I tried the idea but I couldn’t remove the silicon from the molds Could you help me please Did you put any paste or something before spreading the silicon
Hi lovely. I'm looking for ideas for my wedding using homemade embellishments. I'm wanting to use old coffee jars for tealight holders. My colours are rose gold, cream and grey. Any ideas xx
My husband wonders why I'm on youtube all the time and it's because I keep coming across amazing people like you that have amazing ideas. My ? is. How do you store them and how long do they stay bendy.?
Hehehh that’s awesome! I just store them in a tin, honestly could do with a better system because I just throw them in there. They stay bendy forever. At least in my experience, I’ve had some for 2 years and they’re still bendy :)
@@IvetaZiedina if a person is refurbishing furniture they could use this system or put on a frame. Possibles are endless. I need to find several tubes. 😂🤦♀️🥰
Hello Iveta, is it possible to make an exercise resistance band with silicone? I see the main material they use is silicone but I was wondering how they go about this ?
Well I never Iveta, who would of thought that you could use window and door frame sealant or No Nails to make embellishments but of course you did lol!! of course, your just a fountain of knowledge xx
Hahaha trust me, I did not come up with all of this all by myself, I watch and learn from others just like yourself but when you start using other people’s knowledge you find that it might work different for you and you have to tweak a few things, find different materials etc. So you end up adding to the fountain of knowledge 😄
Help please, what am I doing wrong? I have been using flexible caulking to make moulds, but I am not having success. I came upon your video because of the mould you are using is one I have. The tree, snowflakes are coming out fine but not the deer, it keeps having I think are air pockets. The body looks like it has cut holes and the face is distorted. Also have mini bird moulds, same thing is happening. Any suggestions would be so helpful.
Help what am I doing wrong.i bought no more nails and it just dries then cracks when I go to take it out is there a specific make of no more nails I should get thanks
Beautiful! I wonder if they are paintable as well like air drying clay? Btw thx a lot for sharing. New to decoupage art I found your channel rly informative so subbed to your channel. Thx! Greetings from Korea.
Depending on the shape/thinned of the mould, some very thin but deeper moulds like the ones I used on my “Victorian” style baubles before Christmas are really difficult to get out when wet so I use other stuff for those but for the most part you can take them out straight away ☺️
I have went to Michael’s and I have went to Hobby lobby here in the United States Indiana to be exact LOL you cannot find a mold anywhere ! I was able to find Clay just not the molds I would love to have some molds that look like Lace! I love love love your channel
Hi! thank you for the comment! I'm now gathering information from fellow crafters on where they find their moulds :D A lot of people in the US say they buy them on Amazon, and if you go on redesign with prima website they have an online store locator so you can find other retailers. not many brick and mortar shops sell moulds, or at least not as large variety so looking online will be your best bet! :)
Go to the Chinese shops on eBay where they sell lots of molds. Remember, it takes them a month or longer to reach you but the prices are very cheap. They don't have lovely designs like the IOD molds but to begin with, try the cheapo ones on eBay.
I know this is an old post but I wanted to let everyone know that they are available at Michaels and JoAnn in the baking aisle. Just make sure you get the silicone and not the hard plastic. Also, Etsy has a lot and some will customize them for you!
I just usually use either pva glue or same “hard as nails” adhesive. You just need to be careful with superglued coz some of h them react with the sealant and melt it away
Hey Yvette, I tried putting the white silicone sealant in my moulds and now after even 4 days they are not coming out at all... Can u pls help me with this ... Or else all my moulds would get ruined... Pls help ....
It is very important that the silicone is acrylic. There is also acetate silicone and it can be used to make the mold itself. But acrylic silicone is used to fill the mold, to make decorations. If you can't peel it off the mold, you've probably used acetate and destroyed the mold. It has an unpleasant smell like strong vinegar.
Bummer! Unfortunately silicone sticks to silicone so if you have a silicone mold and fill it will silicone, that will happen. In the video she used "door and window sealant" - not sure what the material actually was - and the other option was a kind of glue (presumably that does not stick to silicone, because she didn't demonstrate that one).
