Concord Grape Kombucha is one of our favorite flavored kombucha recipes. It’s a gorgeous purple and tastes like a tart, unbelievably delicious grape soda! It’s different than any kombucha you’ve had (or made) - because we make it with fresh Concord grapes instead of tea during fermentation.
In this video, Erica from FarmSteady will show you how to make homemade kombucha using just Concord grapes, sugar, kombucha starter liquid and a kombucha SCOBY.

Absolutely. If you like the flavor of the grapes you're using - you'll like them in kombucha.

So I have never name kombucha before but I have tons of Concord grapes to use up. I want to make this and I just ordered your kit! I’ll be using my scooby for the first time with this recipe, is that okay?

How would you do something similar with apples?

for an apple kombucha, we'd recommend making kombucha with black or green tea like normal, and then bottling it with some apple juice concentrate. You can learn more here: farmsteady.com/kombucha

Thank you so much! So glad to hear about all your projects. We just bottled more than a 100 little 2 oz bottles of hot sauce for Christmas gifts too. I definitely see a buttermilk video in our future. It's the first step of making really the best drop biscuits!

What do you mean when you say "peel one off" to do experimental batches and not reusing the scoby? I'm thinking of buying your Kombucha kit....

Hi Casey! Each time you make a batch of kombucha your SCOBY clones itself forming another layer making it a slightly thicker SCOBY. When it gets too thick you separate and discard (or give away) part of your SCOBY. For this recipe we recommend using part of your SCOBY for a one-off batch that is 100% hibiscus without interrupting or stressing your regular tea kombucha.
