As a kid, I really loved Ed Emberley's books. His straight-forward and simple style made drawing accessible to anyone who could make basic shapes, and it still managed to be highly imaginative and inspiring. And that's what I love about this method. You don't have to be a professional illustrator or have lots of computer gear to make whatever you need to have fun. This can do the job *and* look good at the same time. Kudos!
I absolutely love this. When I first got into roleplaying games, I would draw dozens of little 1" paper tokens with characters' faces on them--it was really empowering just how simple hey could be and still look good. These days, I've upped my game to digitally designing my own paper miniatures, but these are some wonderful tips for new gamers young and old that are first getting into the hobby and want a cheap and easy option for whatever miniatures they may need, and I greatly enjoyed watching. I look forward to more of your work!
dude! this literally is the coolest idea for d&d I have ever seen, followed this video step by step to make my tiefling warlock and he looks so dang cool, your art style is the closest art style to mine I have ever seen so this was the perfect creative boost I needed, thank you for being you!
Loving the art style. Do you have any tips and tricks for drawing Warforged, kenku, tortles, half-orcs, and/or dragonborns? I asked my players to pick races that weren't human because humans are an endangered species destroyed by war and slavery. And in retrospect I didn't think about creating player tokens. Please and thank you for any help.
Ugh, wonderful content man! Liked it so much I watched it twice. This video has definitely inspired me to make my own mini for my character in our current campaign (my group is using one of those D&D campaign books with all its assets, so the maps and such were included). Keep up the amazing work! Looking forward to hearing about the new project!!
Fantastic video! It's always such a joy to find actually useful videos with all the time-sink nonsense that's being posted these days. I'm starting to DM for my little sister without having any prior experience with the game... Tomorrow or the day after we'll have our first session.. I'll be sure to tweet out our minis! :) Also, a tip from my side to players out there: if you don't know how to design your mini, start by creating one at heroforge and then just copy a simplified version
WOW! It's just great! I was looking for a tutorial like your video. Admittedly, I won't be drawing all the characters by hand, but the way I fold the paper figures will give me a wonderful templayte for my printed figures. Cool! Thank you very much!
Very Good Job and osom results.... im trying to get ideas to make my own RPG characters for a haloween module (pumpkins, bats, sleketons...) i think this was the post i was looking for!!! subskribed and liked!
...nice one, buddy :) - was looking for something to create (3D) since my laptop died on me and so I had to get back to basics. .. Please make more hands on videos like this - awesome! !!
I notice you call it rubber cement but on the can it says paper cement. I couldn't find the kind you have at Michael's but they did have Elmer's rubber cement. Is that the same thing?
Really cool looking work, not gonna lie. Don't know a proper word in English, in Russian I name such a work "фирмово", roughly would be translated as professional-done.
Great! now I can make crappy looking Bandit miniatures. For real though thanks so much for the idea, now I just need to learn to draw good (or just draw more crappy looking Bandits, they are just Bandits after all.)
The most inspirational vids. Love your work. I think a good vid idea is recreated your top 5 favored minis tgat you made in clay. I CHALLENGE YOU Ps I prefer you use sculpty premo but flamo is more user friendly
What is your t-shirt in this episode? Also, you need to show your whole shirt in every video so I can see what it is so I can purchase the ones I want, please and thank you.
Those are standees not miniatures. Board games with standees are cheaper. Usually they will have 4 miniature main characters that they will advertise while the rest of the generic monsters are just standees.
