I love your videos! I'm part Puerto Rican from my father's side. I LOVE how down-to-earth and passionate you are about your cooking and baking. My husband, who is Polish, also grew to LOVE Puerto Rican cuisine. Polish cuisine is amazing as well. We got married almost 7 months ago, and we went to Puerto Rico on our honeymoon, and enjoyed it so much! I watched your tembleque and your maizena videos and was very impressed with how easy your recipes are. Keep up the amazing work!
That looks amazing! I can't wait to try it. Thank you for sharing. The people who gave this a thumbs down are probably celebrity chef wannabes who have to have everything perfect.
Best and easy recipe so far. First time I made it for thanksgiving my family went crazy. Now I make it every thanksgiving Christmas and new year gathering 😊
You can make all the mess you want, that looks gorgeous. I cannot wait to make this for my husband. Mr. Boricua he loves his flancocho. Thank you so much
Turned this into a flancocho de frescas by adding some strawberry jello powder and chopped up fresh strawberries. This was a delicious recipe! Thanks for sharing.☺️
I'm going to have my 12 year old make this with my supervision of course. Great Recipe and instructions. You make it look too easy. Thanks for the Video!!!
I love your personality, lol you have me laughing while watching your videos. Thanks for welcoming us into your kitchen and teaching us what you know. Love from Miami!
I found your channel once before, somehow I have come back to it just in a search and you are one hell of a cook. Your voice and your how to's is simple and easy to follow. This recipe looks amazing, I have to go tomorrow and buy some cake flour girl! I need to make this ASAP!
I've done it with chocolate cake, redvelvet cake, pumkin cake and pumpkinflan. pinapple cake, coconut cake and coconut flan. but i use the boxed cakes. i don't have the patience to try and make the cakes from scratch. i may try it this time cuz you always make the hardest recipies look sooo easy. they are all so yummmmmyyy!
i love watching your videos. you taught me so many different Spanish dishes, lol even my mother in law approves . is there a video of yo making coquito ? that's something i would like to have for my thanksgiving party
Thanks sharing with us. The cake part looked translucent/raw. When using darker pans, it helps to lower the temp and bake for a tad bit longer. Or else the baked goods don't bake evenly and/or completely.
Omg looks yummy rico...i seen people do it with Chocolate cake and I think is gross but this one looks so much better with a vanilla cake thank you for idea recipe I love coconut so I think I'll make mine with a coconut cake or coconut flan😀
I've tried flancocho when I lived in PR. I've been wanting to make it but thought it was so difficult. You make it seem so easy. Question, the flour you use, is it presto? I can't wait to try this recipe!
+Sweets and Beyond I just realized i never told you how it came out... I've made it a few times now and it's always a hit. I'm making it now for friends coming over tomorrow. I always look back at the video to make sure I don't miss anytime. Thank you so much for sharing your recipes!
I'm trying to work up the courage to try this recipe..the flipping makes me really nervous! Most of the recipes i've seen use a boxed mix for the cake part. I might go that way for my first flancocho just in case it's a failure i dont want to see a good cake ruined. As usual great job Ida and hopefully i'll be making my flancocho debut soon.
+Olga Diaz Rivera I think with these ingredients is a bit better. With the box mix you would have to use half of the mix, so it could be a little tricky.
Lovely recipe! For future videos, best to state the measurement/size of the pan rather than just show to viewers. This helps both types of viewers (visual and hearing disabled).
