Good luck everyone who’s moving to university! This video was super helpful but another tip: You will meet so many friends throughout your time in higher education, your friendship groups will change, grow bigger, smaller ect. Just relax and be yourself and everything will work out 😊

I’m so scared. My last 3 years in high school I had not one close friend, I went to maybe 2 parties that whole time and didn’t even celebrate my 16 and 17 birthday because I had no one to invite. Now I’m about to start medical school. Sadly no physical introduction week because of corona and when classes start it’s mostly gonna be online. I will try my best to still make friends but I feel the odds are against me.

University alumni here. To shed light for people, one of the best ways I made friends was Through student clubs or attending events, and putting yourself out there. That'll depend on time you have in your schedule with classes and all that, but friendships will come. Or start one too. I loved University for that because student clubs allow you to explore interest areas and seek and discover what you enjoy and care about. It makes the experience that much more enriching than just attending classes for however many years. It's worth making the most of it if you have time.

I know I should always be myself but I also want to change my personality in some ways when I go to college 😳 throughout my k-12 years I’ve been introverted and kinda awk in school bc I didn’t hang out with the right friend groups early on, so I just kinda felt left out at times. But I’m super outgoing when I’m with my friends. I’m hoping that in college, I literally have a brand new start and if I immediately come off as outgoing and extroverted that could be my new image.. idk if that’ll work lmao but let’s see (Sorry this rant was unnecessary but had to share 💜)

im going into my sophomore year and im super nervous! i didn’t have many friends freshman year because classes were online so everyone was stuck in their dorms, and the people i did meet we stopped talking after school ended. this year i live off campus in my own apartment next to a neighboring school so most of them are in that university and not mine. i’m nervous everyone will be closer to eachother since they go to the same school…i’m going to try superrrr hard to build confidence and make friends. my goal is to take EVERY opportunity to talk to someone, and stop making excuses that i’m “too scared” or “too exhausted”

Liliana Mendoza Delgado hahaha so update. It’s incredibly hard to make friends because no one in my hall has their doors open and are hanging out in the lobby so it’s low key annoying. But I just had a floor meeting and almost everyone wants to make friends we are all just trapped inside due to covid. So hopefully things will get better. I know it’s scary going to a new place. But I’ve been here 4 days and I’m kinda vibing??? Like I’m still super anxious. But the first week everyone. Literally everyone is looking for friends so don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. I go to a small college in the uk and I have made friends, I’m about to go into my final year, but I do feel that a lot of the friends I made in first year have drifted away or have moved and I’m afraid of feeling lonely when I go back in September... I’m sure I’ll be alright and have tons of studying to do but I am worried as I don’t like partying and my college doesn’t really have clubs or anything like that to really get involved in... It’s going to be a few years later, but it’s kinda nerve racking because even though I was the new kid in late grade 8, I was only able to make friends with everyone there because my batch mates are the friendliest people I’ve met, and there’s only 30 people in the whole batch.

I really want new friends and I’m in my sophomore year in college. Some of my old friends go to my college but we all have different schedules and it’s impossible for us to meet up. The semester is ending in a few weeks and I didn’t attend any of the club and job fairs or any event my college had. I just get a bit nervous trying to meet new people. Hopefully next semester. i’m struggling so terribly to make friends. i live 40 minutes away from my campus, so i don’t get to spend too much time there before i have to come back home. i went to one club meeting, but i got cold feet and left once the meeting ended and didn’t talk to anyone. i want to keep attending things next week, my goal is to make ONE new friend this week. i’m gonna drive myself insane if i don’t.

honestly, I still don’t feel like I have one “best friend” but I think that’s how college friendships are for a lot of people and it lets you discover more about yourself by meeting all kinds of people :) it’s totally normal so just keep putting yourself out there!

I'm moving to a whole new country for college in few months and im so scared cause English is not my first language and I have never been alone in my entire life. My parents never let me be alone but now suddenly being all on my own is really making me anxious. I want to make new friends but idk how it is like in that country, are people friendly or anything:( I'm super introverted and I have huge anxiety like I wouldn't even ask someone for help even if I'm in pain

aw wow, I can imagine how scary this can feel. I get how these nerves feel. I used to be really scared to ask for help too. I wonder if you can try to overcome this by talking to people you trust first? they can help you build your confidence! whatever happens, I’m rooting for you and I know you will grow so much. be brave❤️

Approching people is not hard for me but main problem i was communication. After introducing about yourself, talk about studies now what we talk after that. I donot understand how to keep conversation going or other word i donot know how to make long and deep conversation so that we make best friends not friend for time pass. @@not_zara completely forgot about that. Didn't meet anyone the first day. Second day a guy just came up and said hi with his friend. So i hung with both of them in uni, but we never rlly had anything in common or went to any parties :(. The guy who said hi also left after this semester, so now im down to one friend who all i do with is going to the lectures. Hope to meet sum new people but its hard lol

there have definitely been roommate horror stories but I love my roommate. :) I think as long as you get to know them before and try to request someone with compatible living habits, you'll be alright!

University in Belgium sucks. I mean the only way to make friends is by drinking. Cause yeah legal drinking age here is 16 yo. If you don't drink... It gets wayyy hardee already
