Welcome back to another month of the Gluten Free Baking Challenge! This month, we’re making an EASY GLUTEN FREE SCONES RECIPE
These are British-inspired scones, similar to but not the same as Southern Biscuits or American Scones.
Serve them with my Faux Clotted Cream Recipe - bit.ly/fauxclot... (full recipe + video) for those who can’t get the real thing. And don’t forget the jam!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
2 cups (265g) gluten free flour
1 teaspoon xanthan gum amzn.to/3svpqIm (omit if your flour blend contains it)
2 tablespoons (30g) granulated sugar
1 tablespoon (10g) aluminum free baking powder
1/2 teaspoon (5g) fine sea salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
4 tablespoon unsalted butter, cold and cubed
1 large egg, beaten
2/3 cup buttermilk, cold

I addded the 2 c of gf flour (Bob's Red Mill) and it was too dry. Maybe every brand works differently.

Tastes just like a buttermilk bisquit and the batch was a bit dry when directions followed perfectly.
