The first batch - the kernels which popped early absorbed quite a lot of the glaze, so there was less left at the end. It might be better to pre-heat and add the glaze later.
Thank you for the awesome machine/popcorn 🍿 videos ...After watching a “trillion “ popcorn machine videos, your machine seems to be the best of them all so I just ordered the exact same machine today along with the items used to make delicious popcorn !!! Quick question can you recommend a great cheese flavoring?
That’s awesome! Glad I can help! Hope you enjoy it as much as we do! As for cheese flavoring, I haven’t jumped into that one just yet. I have to look around and try some. Being from Chicago, the big popcorn thing is the “Chicago mix”. Which is cheese and caramel corn. So this is something I definitely need to find out soon.
Popcorn isn't covered in caramel because Glaze Pop is measured at a 2:1 corn/glaze ratio. So, if you measure 6 grams of corn you need to measure out 3 grams of glaze, etc. Hope this helps.
When it comes to Caramel Popcorn or Kettlecorn, go with Mushroom popcorn. That's your best bet to go with when it comes to this type. It's the fluffiest one that's used for the candied type. Question though, where do you get the GlazePop from? I'm thinking about getting a Whirleypop for it. Now, I'm gonna go on and make some Kettle Corn 😅.
Flavacol lasts, like, forever, but it seems like the glaze pop carton must only do, what, 3 sessions? Seems like it's would be a nightmare to clean after? Thanks for the video.
This video was exxxxtremely helpful and so glad you did it. Can you share the cleaning process? I heard after awhile the Carmel needs to be cleaned. Thank you so much!
What I’m using is a popcorn machine made by Superior Popcorn Company. I assume it’s comparable and would pop popcorn similarly. I got it on Amazon. Here’s the link: Hot and Fresh Countertop Popcorn Machine - 3 Gallon Popper - 8oz Kettle, Old Maids Drawer, Warming Tray, Scoop by Superior Popcorn Company (Black) a.co/d/0Lo5GFo I do like using Glaze Pop, but I think homemade caramel is better.
So a quick question, how was the clean up? Did it leave a sticky mess in the pot or the base? Did the next batch of regular popcorn have the caramel taste too? Thank you in advance for your reply.
I use a West Bend Stir Crazy popcorn machine. What would be the proper amount of ingredients to make a full batch of your caramel corn using my machine? Thanks
Just got a westbend theater style popcorn maker. Fell in love with it now knowing I can make theater style popcorn at home. Just ordered this caramel glaze last night. Cant wait to try it out
Wow, I thought I was reading the Glaze Pop instructions incorrectly. I’ve been using Flavacol for a long time and only need a teaspoon for a batch. Is the ounce measurement by weight, or by volume?
Thank you for this great video. Neat to see your consumer popcorn popper make professional concession popcorn at home. Your advice is helpful. It's awesome that there are household size popcorn poppers like yours in this video that enables you to make movie theater popcorn, carnival style caramel popcorn, and other flavors easily yourself. I plan to use my 8 ounce popper like this one and make various flavors and give away bags of the popcorn as Christmas gifts. They would definately make people very happy year around as well.
I’ve always made this stove top… but got a machine today to try. But even stove top it’s pretty unevenly coated. However, when the lights are out and you are grabbing little handfuls while watching a movie you can’t really tell much. But I do appreciate the various attempts.
Did this with my popcorn machine with terrible results. Found the glaze left a very sticky layer on the inside of the pot. Dadgum was it a heck cleaning it!. Did you have the same problem or not?
How would you compare the Caramel Glaze to kettle corn style? In regards to sweet to salty ratio? I don't like overly sweet popcorn, but i do like the flavor of caramel though.
I have some questions... why do you think my pop corn machine burns the flavored pop corn? Has this happened to you and what do you recommend? Thank you.
When are you adding the glaze? If you add the glaze too soon it can burn. Oil, corn and then glaze. Test your oil with a couple of kernels and then add corn. Give it a minute to heat up and add glaze. If that doesn't work I would check the thermostat, it might need to be adjusted to not burn the glaze.
Caramel popcorn sounds very interesting. Makes me wish I could sample some of your Carmel popcorn. I wonder how difficult it is to clean after making Carmel popcorn?
@@WayneAshleysSmallWorld if you don’t want to have to clean the big machine from the sticky mess a stir crazy popcorn makes would be a bit easier the clear bowl is the one that really getting brown a sticky

@WayneAshleysSmallWorld I just want to thank you again I bought the commercial popcorn machine and now I'm making ALOT of money selling popcorn thanks again man you're awesome
I love your channel and your videos very informative. I have the same machine as you but I'm running into an issue. I tried the chocolate and I tried the caramel and both times the popcorn started popping and it was fine but then it started burning and smoking at the very end. I am using regular oil not buttered, I'm using Orville Redenbacher popcorn, and I use 4 oz of the mix for an 8 oz amount of popcorn. Any troubleshooting tips?
Personally, I would add the oil first, then the powder. Let it stir and mix for a second as it comes to temp, then add the kernels. I think that would be the best way to ensure that the flavor of the powder is evenly spread.
Can't put it in right away because it's made of sugar and it burns or can taste scorched. Better that the kernels are hot and ready to pop before adding the glaze.
Ok I tried coconut oil it worked great then it started to burn help what do I need to do I even did different oils and also how much oil to use maybe to much or not enough
Thanks for this video, I wasn't sure if I was doing it right since I would get lots of "lightly coated" popcorn. Turns out I was doing it right, but I will try doing your modified instructions. By the way, are the Ounces, Fluid ounces or Ounces by weight? I've been doing Fluid Ounces
