This is how to video of Hoop Stove. Making is troublesome job and difficult, but has the best usability in the field. If you want to make a good stove, there is a need to spend time and effort. You can reduce primer time. There is no need to carry extra fuel for primer.

I made a similar one. But I used a razor blade to cut the cans, which did not fit together as well as I would like, and dull pins to make the jet holes. The work and precision this guy puts into this rather simple stove is an example of why Japanese cars grew to be vastly superior to American cars. Japanese make some fantastic stuff.

Thanks comment. This stove is very complicated design. Improved version is Capillary Hoop Stove. Pls watch CHS video too.

Can't believe it's six years since I made one of these. It works flawlessly and has got a lot of use in all sorts of weather conditions. Came back because it needs a few repairs. I used very thin ali for the leg supports and they need replacing due to cracking. Considering I used it in a daily basis at work for about eight months it's held up quite well

I have to say, it's a real pleasure to see someone who likes figuring things out physically, and worries so much about craftsmanship. VERY well done. I've made basic can alcohol stoves with just pinholes and they work pretty well but this is very VERY nice. I like your petal stove as well but this looks less complicated and likely works better too.

I am using carbon felt. I'll have to get a .8mm bit. I hope that fixes it because I really like this design and the performance you are getting is amazing. Thank you for the help and your contributions to the alcohol stove community.

The only one I don't have is the one he used to cut the top opening with, but I have a hardware store a couple blocks away that likely has one. Pretty easy to get these. If you fix anything around your house at all, you have at least half of them.

Dude! I love the precision and engineering on this stove...The music is great on your video and how do I get your amazing tools!!!!???? Great video and stove!!!! Thanks for sharing!!! I'm going to make this but I will have a dull butter knife and a rock for tools :-) All kidding aside, I'm not sure how to get a hold of "Carbon felt" here in the US, so I'll try fiberglass insulation to see if that works. Hopefully it will wick the alcohol as efficiently as your carbon felt does. I'll let you know!

Hi Tetkoba, since you are very good at building such small light and efficient stoves, would you have any suggestions on making a efficient wood gas/gassifier stove? I built a stainless steel one of a top lit updraft type/tlud, but quite heavy, and goes out far to easily(there is some blue flame though). Be great to have a lightweight(ish) one that is as pretty as your stoves! any ideas?
