I was looking for a really good wholesome chicken soup cos my husband had bad flu and was laid up for 5 days in bed. I came across your recipe and decided to give it a go. It turned out real good and my husband loved it. He has been eating it 3 times a day for the past 3 days (breakfast, lunch and dinner). He has one portion left which he will be eating tomorrow night. He absolutely loves it and said he started feeling better after his first bowl. Thank you for posting this and making it so easy to make. Bless you ❤️

I knew the time would come when this soup joumou out from Haiti (different meat) would now be called Jamaican soup. Soup joumou was derived from when Haiti gained its independence from the French.

Thanks so much for watching Charlene! Cho cho aka chayote, although it has more than a dozen names is cooked similar to a potato and is part of the squash family.
