I was mainly confused regarding where to write/draw. I could not choose a viable option and the recordings were a bit long. Your tips helped me a lot, thank you, sir.
I have tried and tried to make these videos. Yours is the first tutorial that actually worked for me the first time. I was amazed. You are a great teacher, Andrew. Thanks.
Great video, so glad this is an option. I used Screencast aaaaaaaaages ago and am happy to see the interface looks like what I need to demo online lessons. I am also overjoyed to report that I found this video by searching YT for "how to make a how to video". I think this was the very first hit. :)
Thank you so much for sharing this to us. This is really a great hep to teachers like me who wanted to do better in teaching despite the pandemic situation right now.
Hi Sir, I am a primary teacher, due to covid crisis our schools has been closed from last 5 months but after watching this video we got a solution to make my virtual class more effective... love you from India....
Thanks Mr.Andrew. You have done noble teaching us all. Please I have two questions: 01. How do I capture the computer screen along side my self (the instructor)at top or bottom corner of the screen just as u have Ur face showing while making this tutorials. 02. Can one trim /remove a middle section of the clip apart from just the begining and the end. Thanks in anticipation.
Big thanks you for giving versatile knowledge , it's really work. As a teacher I once again thanks for the wonderful technology. St. John Bosco High School & Junior College Badlapur., Maharashtra, India
The mic used is the built in microphone of the MacBook Pro 2017 model, 13” version. What also helps sound quality is to try and position yourself away from hard flat surfaces that bounce sound. If you are at a desk, face away from the wall. Cheers, friend!
Thank you so much! This was very useful, you have no idea. My mother struggled making videos for her students when online classes very announced. This guide made it super easy for her. She is so thankful 🥰
Yes, QuickTime, menu File -> New Screen recording. Apple hides tons of darn useful apps and utilities as standard, which is why MacOS is a great value. With Windows, oftentimes you need to hunt down an 3rd party piece of software.
Suggestion: do not read text on a slide to the students unless that is specifically what the lesson is about. Keep animations to a minimum. Try to mimic what you are doing in the recording with what you would do in the classroom. Viewing a recording is a type of LECTURE and remember to keep it brief and to the point, and to not rush your speech.
Hello Andrew I'm just wondering how you wrote on the powerpoint slides, as that's exactly what I want to do. Did you use a digital pen on the actual monitor, or did you use it on a connected device like a tablet? If it's the latter, please tell me what device you used. Thank you in advance.
THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Very novice question I know...BUT I managed to make a recording and save it, so..what now...I dont know how to post it to my page or email it to my kids. Tried to email a colleague and it wont open for him
TheSherrilee I recommend you put it On google drive and share the link. Email me, I can guide you a little better on that point. My email is at www.andyborne.com/math
@@aborne i just want to ask that can i do screen record for zoom in my laptop window 7 ...i am a students...i am searching that how to do screen record for soo many days....and how can i screen record 2nd time if i want ....i have to do again these steps to screen record in my laptop...please reply me!!!!??
Unfortunately no. What you are describing is something a video editor is for. There are several apps that will do this for free on an iPad, and iMovie on a Mac. As for free video editors on a Windows PC, I don’t know.
I'm aware that screencast-o-matic has a paid version. The free version has limitations. Look into being a paid subscriber if you will be making longer screen recordings on a regular basis.
I use a graphics tablet with a stylus, My favorite is the Wacom model CTL4100WLEO it's bluetooth and USB connect if that's what you like. It's about $70, essential for anyone who writes or draws math & science especially.
What are you using for writing? I am unable to use the blackboards writing tool to write. Are you using a stylus pen? If so, what kind? Can I use it with any computer type? Please help me get started. I teach math, and I am struggling to present to my students.
This is exactly what I'm trying to do for my student and for all those who want to learn Microsoft Excel (for now) but will be doing alot more new topics soon. Thank you 😊
