Been researching ways to make matcha when camping or backpacking, or simply if I’m in a rush. I think the shaker jar combined with a blender ball is a good lightweight and affordable option, given I could replace the jar with a lightweight bottle that’s a bit more durable. Boil water, add water to bottle with metal ball, add matcha, and shake for 2 minutes. If it’s more bitter than normal I’ll just add a bit of sweetener. Seems very doable!
@Nioteas

hmm, I'm thinking of doing just that, as I have a blender bottle... how well does it get rid of the clumps? Matcha seems to be a lot more fine than protein powder, so I'm kinda apprehensive about it.
@MisterHowzat
@MisterHowzat 4 месяца назад
To prevent bitterness, do NOT use hot water. Hot water is what makes matcha bitter. Mix the powder with cold or cool water first, then add hot water to the prepared suspension. Or just drink it cold/cool. Matcha doesn't need to be drunk hot/warm.

Maybe a combination of techniques can be used if you don't mind some extra faffing about. The fork or whisk can break up the clumps, and the jar can provide the froth.
@2000SkyView
@2000SkyView 6 месяцев назад
you didn't shake the jar very well, more vigorously. I get a foam the easily rivals the whisk. The trick I find is to drop the water temperature by 10-20 degrees as the shaking seems to result in more heat and can give a little bitter taste at times. In addition to sifting, I gentle stir with a spoon (altering direction like a whisk) when adding the water. Have to use correct technique when changing tools. 🙂 Nice Video!!!!

@adimurray2273
@adimurray2273 3 года назад
this is true you can also damage your bowl you use as well and the stainless steel whisk can react to the compounds in the matcha and spoil it. If you gonna buy matcha and not cheap out just buy the tools for the job tbh, I made Matcha tea for a long time and I you can tell when some one used cheap matcha or the wrong tools to make it. Also avoid Chinese Chasen as they not so good and chemical treated most times to produce them faster their cheaper to buy. Try buy the hand made ones from Japan only few make them so you will pay for it but worth it.

My trainer wants me to drink matcha every day because he says it has the strongest antioxidant that our body can safely consume. I've tried so hard to make it taste good but I just can't. I haven't tried the bamboo whisk yet but I have to say I'm a little skeptical about it affecting flavor all that much. I've even tried coffee creamer in it but it is just not good. It got to the point where I would just put some in a shot glass and just shoot it back just to get some in my system. Ive lost 60lbs with my trainer so I want to follow his advice to the T but I can't seem to possibly drink three tablespoons of this every day. Anyone have any ideas?
