A vegan version of the Hong Kong Egg Tart or Milk Tart, a popular item in Chinese bakeries or dim sum.

Yield: 12 small tarts
Ingredients:
Soy milk, unsweetened - 250ml
Sugar - 1½ tbsp
Custard powder (vegan) - 2 tsp
Kala namak - ⅛ tsp
Agar powder - ½ tsp
Small tart shells, sweetened - 12 pieces

Any replacement for Kala namak. Is it a must or can it be optional.

it's optional. it serves to replicate the "eggy" taste and u can either leave it out or sub with a pinch of regular salt.
