Thanks so much for sharing all 3 products. We are trying to pick out a machine that "blows air" from the bottom to remove those pesky sharp tiny bits that get stuck in your throat. Great video, and excellent information. This must be a 4 ounce popcorn popper, since ½ cup of raw popcorn went into the kettle. The nice lady hosting this video is 100 percent correct on how to use a popcorn popper of this size. My popcorn popper is an 8 ounce, and I use 1 cup popcorn, ⅓ cup oil, and 1 teaspoon of FLAVACOL popcorn seasoning per batch. One very important thing to remember is to NEVER double the amount of raw popcorn and oil, nor should you cut the amounts in half; the popcorn popper is specifically designed to work its very best when you use the recommended amounts of raw popcorn seeds, oil, and flavoring, if any. Most people don't know this about popcorn equipment like in this video. In such cases, read the instructions that came with the popper, or get instruction from someone that knows how to properly and safely use the popcorn equipment. It's very simple to make great popcorn in any size kettle, just be sure you know the poppers kettle capacity. For example, in a 24 ounce popcorn popper, use 3 cups of raw popcorn, 1 cup popping oil, and 1 heaping tablespoon of FLAVACOL popcorn seasoning per batch. This is the same ratio, proportion, or percentage of popping oil and FLAVACOL sesasoning as was used in this video.

Hello, I bought the Betty Crocker movie nite popcorn maker. Really nice looking. I followed your instructions, I got the butter and salt. Taste is amazing, taste like movie theater you were right. However I’m having issue with the machine itself. I put just a small spoon (the one that come with the machine) of kernel. The popcorn pop but after few seconds popcorn get jammed in the kettle… and start burning so I have to turn off the machine. Did you ever got that problem with your machine? It’s pretty annoying cause the taste is amazing. But I can’t never make a large sac of popcorn for that reason :(

Have you ever tried popping the corn using only the at the movies pop corn brand topping oil that you show in your video? I know people who claim that using only that oil the popcorn has an incredible flavor, even better than using coconut oil, and it makes sense to me, since that topping oil also has beta carotene to give it color and flavor on its own.

@@HappyHauteHome Please try it and tell me the results or make a new video doing it, I don't live in North America, but in my country we have Cinemark, and the popcorn there is extremely addictive, it's my favorite, of course they use flavacol, but I don't think so that is the only key to its flavor, I am sure they not use coconut oil, I have been trying to recreate that flavor since 2019, I have used different brands of butter flavored coconut oil, including the one you have in your video dutchman's and of course the great flavacol and yes, the popcorn tastes good but not as good as cinemark, i don't know exactly what oil they use there, i also tried the butter flavored canola oil and it was the worst thing that I have tried in my life, I begin to suspect that they use the topping oil both to pop the popcorn and to have that special flavor together with flavacol of course.

The Flavacol is the real secret ingredient. Theatres don't typically use coconut oil, however, because it's too expense. Peanut and canola are more common, although coconut is probably the healthy choice. At home, I've used olive oil, too, but coconut pops better. Where theatre popcorn is especially unhealthy, however, is the "butter flavored" OIL they use for topping. Bad stuff. Good quality kernels, the correct measurement of oil and salt, and proper temperatures and timing can give you BETTER popcorn than what you get at theatres.
@HappyHauteHome

To us nothing beats the flavor of just plain old butter and salt on popcorn. I've never understood the hype with all of these flavored oils and powders and such other than that it's advertised as being more healthy which I question the accuracy of those claims myself.
@HappyHauteHome
@HappyHauteHome 4 месяца назад
I don't believe flavored oils and powders are more healthy at all but that salt taste is quite addicting.

I do it your way with the same incredients. But if i do the first 250gr. the taste is nearly perfect but the pops are not gold/yellow. The second portion the color of the pops is like yours. What I´m doing wrong?

Are you using the beta carotene? Are you letting the kettle heat up? They should be the same if you are following the procedures.
@maluc

Yes for sure. Heating it up about 5-10‘ with the coconut fat with carotine. After this I add the flavacol and put in the corns.

if you think thats good, next time purchase the 'premier' version of flavacol - you can then skip the adding additional buttery goodness :)

I let mine sit in the machine with the heating elements for 20-30 minutes, minimum. Much more crunchy. When I didn't have a popper, I'd stick them in the oven at 200 degrees.

Great Northern sells what they call tri-packs that includes buttery oil, kernels and Flavacol. Although considering the cost I imagine this may be cheaper. A big carton of Flavacol is like $10.00

Since you have had it a while, whats cleanup like on them. If your going to eat it regularly is it like once a week or do you have to do it everyday?
@HappyHauteHome
@HappyHauteHome 4 года назад
We go thru periods of using the machine a lot, then not using it.During the periods of heavy use, I do not clean it each time and it's fine. I clean it when I know we won't be using it for a while. A good clean up can be time consuming..hence it's not done each time ;)

My favorite alltime popcorn machine! Where can I purchase one of these and how much do they cost approximately? Can you use either margarine or regular butter instead of that coconut oil that you demonstrated if preferred? If so, will it have that same traditional buttery taste?

You put the oil, salt and kernels in and they will pop when ready . Making it way to time consuming no need for test kernels or that grease. The same oil you use for butter you use to pop it too.

This is a Waring Pro. You can get a less expensive one in the link I attached, it's a generic brand but looks just as nice. It pops 6 ounces of popcorn and can make 2 gallons per batch. Plenty for 2 people.
