A simple tutorial that shows you how to make a mushroom Christmas decoration for your tree.
Easy steps to follow and some helpful ideas and tips to make yours unique. Create a beautiful woodland themed decoration to keep forever, or make some to sell or give as gifts.
You will need - A twig, egg shell, an egg box, plaster of paris powder (1 table spoons per mushroom), water, thread, a needle, paint and a paintbrush.
I used hawthorn twigs, ash twigs and dogwood stems.
The paints I used were Inklab's metallic acrylic paints and Sostrene and Grenes' 3D blob paint. @sostrenegrene
I made sure the egg shells were from free range eggs because egg mushrooms made from unhappy chicken eggs may be haunted.
The thread I used was a waxed black cotton thread from my ancient thread stash.
The plaster is Mouldmaster Plaster of Paris in white.
The knife I use to strip the bark from my twigs is a Morakniv whittling knife.
