Hi Villainous foreigner, sorry to hear of your loss. Sending lots of positive vibes and prayers your way😊. Thank you for your comment and I'm glad you enjoy my recipes! Lots more to come!
You are wonderful. No nonsense ... down to earth ... explaining everything as you go. I am a seasoned cook, but every day is a school day. Thank you. Although I'm from Glasgow, I currently live in Vietnam. I am having a Birthday Party on Monday, and there'll be lots of different people with lots of different tastes. I'll be cooking Chinese, Thai, European, Veggie, Vegan etc. I have some lamb in the freezer, and your pilau has given me inspiration. I have some beautiful natural yogurt, and will add mint, salt, pepper, a little sugar etc. and this will be a condiment for the pilau.
My neighbours used to bring us some for Eid when I was younger, it was my absolute favourite. We all called it spicy rice including them so as an adult I haven’t found it until now and doing a bit of research. Can’t wait to make it! Thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you for the recipe, another delicious lamb dish to try! ❤️ Update = This dish turned out absolutely delicious, I followed it to the letter and I can highly recommend it to anyone thinking about having a go! x
Putting whole whole spices (gharam masala) directly with the yaknee/broat will make this entire dish even better. Also add 2 or two green chilies. This is also lovely recipe, thanks for sharing.
Hi Naureen, thank you for your comment. I completely agree with you, however I feel lamb cooks pretty quickly and the yakni doesnt cook long enough for any real flavour to develop. I do however use whole spices and onions etc when I'm working with mutton which as you know takes longer to cook.
I tried it and then did it again in the same week! My kids loved so much. It is my favourite rice, I am Arab, I used to think that it is hard to make but your recipe is very simple and easy to follow. Thank you very much. But I want to stop making it because I will put on weight lol
I love this, so easy to follow! I’m black and Puerto Rican and my boyfriend is Pakistani so wanted to try and make a dish that reminded him of home. Thank you so much! 💛
Jasenya, thank you for your comment! So pleased to hear you found this easy to follow and I hope your partner appreciates your efforts! Happy cooking! 😊👍

Hello there. This Lamb Pulao looks WONDERFUL. It's flavoured nicely with fresh ingredients and the rice turned out light & fluffy. I always add hot liquids to my pot also. It cuts down on the time coming up to a boil. My goodness I can just imagine the smell in your home after sautéing the spices & onions. VERY nicely done. Thanks so much for allowing me into your kitchen. Warm regards, Sandee
Hi Zaina, what a lovely name😊. Thank you for stopping by sweety! I hope you found the recipe simple & easy to follow if you attempted it and of course enjoyed eating it too!😉 Do let me know how you got on! 👍
Made this today with my 14yr old daughter absolutely loved cooking it and my family also enjoyed. It's the best I've ever cooked and always struggled with rice THANK YOU XX
Yasmin, Thank you for your comment. I love how you and your daughter cooked together! Ma sha Allah, cooking is such a great way to bond with kids. So glad you enjoyed the end product and your welcome! 😊
Thank you for this recipe and thank you for putting the ingredients in the description box under. I made it and it turned out delicious!! So happy I found your channel! Thank you! 👌❤️
@The Manifestation Maven Thanks for your comment. Did the brown rice take more water to cook? I'm intrigued to know.. so glad the end product turned out great.
@@MyLittleKitchenRecipes I part cooked the rice in the microwave to save time but it didn't take more water, just more time to cook x I know it's not good to microwave so I do usually try to avoid where possible.
Hey sis just a quick question, do dishes taste a lot different with brown rice as opposed to white rice? I wanna take the plunge and try switching but its SO DAMN HARD LOL
@@haleemasultan4373 Let's just say I've tried it once and I'm not a fan! Lol it's very fibrous which is good for you when compared to white rice. But it's not for every one! I've never actually cooked with it.. maybe I should do a brown rice pilau and compare the two on video?! Ps it takes ages to cook 🙄
Thanks to you,I made my first ever lamb pilau rice today with the help of this video. It came out fantastic and can finally make this for my Dad and kids in the future Insha’Allah🙂

@@MyLittleKitchenRecipes hi if i wanted to make this but enought to feed 2 people could injust use the half of the same measurements you used in this video looks amazing like what my asian freinds mother used to make us
Hi sis, I will be cooking this recipe on Saturday and I have bought 1.5kg back chops today. I followed your mutton pilau recipe and that turned out perfectly!! Can you tell me the exact measurements I will need for 1.5kg of meat pls? I want it to be perfect like before xx
Hi Sunshine Serene, so for 1.5kg of meat firstly start by halving all the ingredients in the description box and write it down. And just add the half quantity of ingredients to the one shown in the description box as that is for 1kg of meat. That will give you the perfect ratio quantity! Hope that helps! 😊👍
My husband is Pakistani and really raves about his mum's palau. He's not had this for a while as Mils not well now. Anyway I'll try and impress him with this recipe lol. But mum's cooking is always best I suppose 😋 thanks for this
Hi there, I can totally relate to what you're saying about mums cooking but if it's any consolation this is actually my late dadi's recipe (may Allah SWT be pleased with her) which was passed down to my mum and then me! Hopefully it will bring back memories for your husband.
Thank you for sharing your recipe I’ve tried lamb pilau once and I loved it never attempted to make it but will give it a go today looking forward to it thank you x
Wonderful video - I’m sat watching this while working! I’m going to try and cook this using my instant pot for the masala/ meat preparation and then I’ll transfer to karai for the cooking of the rice as the instant pot water measurements tend to use less than on the stove but I don’t want to risk the Burn sign! One question please - what is the difference between using a karai / handi to cook this kind of desi food as opposed to a non stick deep stock saucepan? Is it to do with heat distribution as I have noticed browning onions in a non stick supermarket bought pan seems to take forever. Advice appreciated. Thanks x
Hi Fadia, thank you for your comment 😊 Supermarket pans that are heavy based work well but I've always heard my mum and late grandma say, that the bigger the karahi the better for rice as it A) it expands whilst cooking and B) you don't want the rice to break. Normal stockpots aren't designed unfortunately for making pilau in them i personally feel.
Thank you for sharing. Just came across this now and enjoyed watching it. Thoroughly explained each step as well as listing all the ingredients which is a big help. x
Awesome thanks. I’m going to give this dish a go for my kids during halftime it’s provoked special memories dialling into your channel. Subscribed as immediately hooked
