About same method like gold stripping solution from my latest video, just no using Hcl on the proses. These bars is just enig plated,so result is low,but the method works fine on thicker plating to.
Your videos are always fun to watch! A few pointers for the process: 1) Always rinse your AgCl with boiling hot water the first go around to remove any Pb that may be in the AgCl. 2) Add your HCl in very measured and controlled does keeping track of what you add so you don't add any more chloride than is required to the solution. This make regenerating the nitric acid solution for reuse very easy. 3) Use a fully saturated sugar solution...it should be very thick like syrup. 4) wash your converted Ag with diluted HCl to clean it up and make it a nice gray colored sponge that settles easily without filtering. 5) Don't forget to stannous test your leftover solution for Pd. It's not uncommon to see Pd along with Ag in relay components! ;) Steve
I'm suprised you don't just make your own nitric acid. You have the stuff to do. Also very easy to make. I've never bought any always have made it and it's more pure so you use very little amount
Hey 999 dusan i really enjoy these videos! Keep up the good work. I know it takes extra time to film work. I like that you bring us along! Have a great day friend!
Sugar oxide conversion requires high temperature. You dissolved the sugar in water, so you did not succeed, you cooled the silver oxides with water ;-)
I like the whole in-situ production for refining. It's not like the salt solution needs to be perfect to get clean silver. You can also just take the conc h2so4 and heat silver in it. If you dilute it afterwards though you will precipitate a portion of the silver sulfate but this is still OK just know there is more product. If you decide this route is worth trying know hot sulfuric acid is also very unforgiving if you get it on you.
Hi! I love your videos. I'm a newbie chemistry major, can someone explain the mechanism as to why H2SO4 prevents base metals from entering solution? Thanks!
I dunno if its intentional, or just an artifact of linguistic difference, but your use of, "v" & "w", was completely inverted from their use in English.
Excellent work professor. The problem is, I can't get nitric or any nitrate. Is there an alternative possible solution please and thank you respect and appreciation.
I've seen this work for poor man's nitric acid. sodium nitrate sulfuric acid tap water (if not interested in getting any silver out of solution) dist water (if interested in getting any silver out of solution) 1800 ml water 100 ml sulfuric acid 50 ml (small beaker full) sodium nitrate. the above are the ratios. If you need different quantities of end liquid, just ratio it up or down.
You can get nitrates actually. Dirt Is everywhere! The ground will contain nitrates and there actually is a video here on RU-vid for just thar! You can also use electricity. Arcing from the electricity will oxidize nitrogen to nitrogen monoxide and then to nitrogen dioxide so if you want a better yield have a flow of air going through. No2 dissolves in water to make nitric acid. Calcium ammonium nitrate is also a fertilizer and a great way to make hno3 if it's available to you. That's about all the knowledge I have for easy nitrates.
Then silver in solution + Salt react to Silverchlorid, will fall out because not soluable. Silverchloride with lye makes Silveroxide. Sugar reduces pure Silver out of the Silveroxide.
Hi dus I love you shows BUT I don’t like anyones with crap music and other people that do it I just stop watching and they do it again and I just don’t come back and I have watched all your shows and like them BUT I will stop if you don’t talk and just play music if I want to listen to music I would my own that I like cheers bud
Bro. Let him do it how he wants. When you have your own subscribers and content worth watching, you can do it how you like. On behalf of the bro, don't let the door hit you in the arse in your way out.
