Terrific tutorial, especially for a beginner with Blythe like me. It's nice to see that the process for creating the exact eye chip color and style I want, is doable. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome! I do the same gluing technique but I use hot glue. Does the E6000 work well for acrylic eye chips too?
@unniedolls
@unniedolls 3 года назад
I haven't tested on acrylic ye chips :( It is hard to put the chips to the center of the realistic eyes, so I can pull off the glue from the glass if I make mistakes. I have no idea what reaction has the glue with acrylics, but on Aliexpress you can find cheap glass chips for Blythe, but be sure you are not buying higher glass which is called "cabochons" but flat Blythe eyechips.

Hola, gracias por compartir este video....como consigue los círculos transparentes que se pegan en la impresión de ojos?
@GPhoenix08
@GPhoenix08 4 года назад
Busque cabujones de vidrio o resina transparente, probablemente pueda encontrarlos en sitios con suministros para la fabricación de joyas. AliExpress también los tiene muy baratos.
@unniedolls
@unniedolls 4 года назад

thank you for your great tutorial :) I was wondering - can you cut out the eyes using scissors instead of sanding them out? Also what glue should I use? You showed some Russian glue but I'm based in Poland and don't know what glue to use
@unniedolls
@unniedolls 2 года назад
It is not a Russian glue. You can find similar glue in almost every country. You can search on Ebay or Amazon, so you can find it in EU. I'm also in the EU, so trust me:) You can't really cut that close to the chips, because the scissors will lift the paper from the glue a bit, so you'll ruin the eyechips :(

@@unniedolls thank you for such fast reply :) I don't know why my other comment didn't show - I wrote that I found this glue online :) I will now try to design some eye chips and buy glass cabochons on Aliexpress :D You said you design the eyes in Adobe Photoshop right? I wonder if my Gimp will do? Are there any free eps templates to start from? Anyway thank you for all the great tutorials - I'm just a begginer and have lot of to learn :)
@unniedolls
@unniedolls 2 года назад
@@monikaempinska9211 Oh, okay:)) but be careful, glass cabochons are NOT good for Blythe eyechips. Their height is too high and won't fit well. You can find cheap glass eyechips, directly designed for Blythe, try to search more! Once I also bought a pack of cabochons :( I don't know Gimp, but if that is a photo editing software, then I'm sure you can create designs with it:) If you are joining to my Patreon page for $5, you'll be able to download 18 eyechips designs from me. Many of the designs might contain more colors too, so technically you can have much more possibilities than 18. www.patreon.com/unniedolls?filters%5Btag%5D=Printable%20Eyechips

can we use glossy accent as glue? not possible to find your glue? Thank you
@unniedolls
@unniedolls 3 года назад
Do you mean like glossy varnish? I tried once but it didn't fork with my gloss. I tried many types of glue, but only E6000 worked for me. It is sticking well, no air bubbles, and dries relatively fast (in 3-4 hours you can sand already).
@dollcumentary
@dollcumentary 3 года назад
Hello! Im on my journey on making diy eyechips, hiw do you get rid of the air bubbles? Is it easy to peel of?
@unniedolls
@unniedolls 3 года назад
If you use this glue and my applying technique, then you'll never get air bubbles:) I tried many types of glue, but with all of them got air bubbles, or the surface after the drying was very strange and shiny. I mean it looked like a dried surface under the glass which is not glued to the glass. If you use this glue and you make a little swirl/circular motion when you are adding the glass, then you can eliminate the bubbles.
@dollcumentary

@unniedolls
@unniedolls 3 года назад
I'm using 200 grit sponge, which is harder to touch. But not every 400grit sponge is the same.. Unfortunately, I don't know the brand :( Try to buy some types of 200 grit harder sponge and try them out. Some of them will last longer, some not really. Usually the edge of the chips can make holes through the sponge, so this is why it's harder to choose the best one and this it why only testing out more will help you :S

@@BChanLuckyFox Ohh... I thought you were asking the black inner circle. Sorry for the missunderstanding. I make my eyechips to be 14mm, perfect for Blythe dolls. You need to print the designs to paper in full 100%) size. If you need them for Pullip, then you can use the same designs just print them in 85%-90% depending on the size if you want. 85% for 12mm eyechips and 90% for 13mm eyechips.
