How and why some coins do and some don't test. And we stand behind what we make. But the testing has to be done correctly.

Viewers can learn a lot from the information presented in these videos.

I just today (this evening) bought two 1/10-oz rounds from your business. I would not have done that had I not had an admittedly unscientific good feeling about you (also it helps that you live north of me) and after seeing this video I'm even more confident that I'll be pleased with my purchase!

Another great video. Thank you for the education. Its note worthy to know the limitations of machinery. It's refreshing to get honest information.

I bought two of them recently I did ask for the new version rounds the lady ensured I wouldn't have an issue, but I do. I use my PMV machine and if I hit it just in the right spot it will show in the brackets. The only concern I have is when I go to sell them in the future it may cause a hassle to exchange them later to a buyer that might think its fake. I'm glad you came out with this video this will be additional proof.

I was disappointed to find out that the gold I purified didn't pass the Sigma test, no matter how I move the wand it always falls outside the bracket. I pulled out the disk that came with Sigma and tested it again, BOOM! It passed. I guess Sigma is very reliable on Government minted coins and larger bars, not so much on thinner and smaller custom products.

There is nothing wrong with the Sigma Metalytics. This is a matter of the laws of physics, not the quality of craftsmanship by the company that makes the Sigma. The Sigma emits an electromagnetic field in order to test every item it checks. That electromagnetic field is elliptical in shape. On the smallest coins (like dimes), the part of that field which extends beyond the boundary of the opposite side of a thin item is averaging in the negative space of the air behind it, thereby affecting the measured value. Those special scenarios require the use of the calibration disc. The disc removes the negative space and replaces it with a known mass of conductive characteristics calibrated to the machine that neutralize the overshoot of the elliptical field, thereby enabling proper measurement. This isn't necessary on larger items, such as quarters, half dollars, silver dollars, or 1oz gold coins, because for the most part these items are so thick that the outer boundary of the magnetic field falls INSIDE the coin. There is nothing wrong with the Sigma Metalytics. The user manual explicitly states that you MUST use the calibration disc BEHIND any object that is especially thin, such as dimes, in order to counteract this naturally occurring scientific phenomenon. This is not optional, it is required. I hope that clarifies your issue with measuring small coins with the machine. Good luck.

Sigma Verifier for sure is not as accurate as the XRF machine, but when I get a piece that couldn't pass the sigma test I usually return it, why? I just want to avoid any issues when I sell it, most other people relies on the not-so-accurate-Sigma, they're going to question the stuff I'm selling and since I'm not a big name company, no one will trust that my stuff is legit.

Lol everyone spending so much money and getting a headache over their gadget that's not working, an unreliable machine. My thread, glass of water, scale and calculator worked just fine to prove that your prospector round was 24k that I purchased of FB about a month ago. Only buying from reliable sources, and testing using the density/gravity method is highly underrated! I've purchased a decent amount over the years, and have never had a problem. I'll admit when I saw the click-bait title of the video I was worried. I could only imagine what you felt, it's really on the cusp of libel and defamation. This is your life, your families life if you have one, you don't just go making baseless accusations without (1) the knowledge which that guy clearly doesn't have and (2) deep pockets, because I would sue him if I were you. You have lost business because of this. I'm sure you have suffered mentally also.. All of this can be taken to court. It's not just a lie, he is suggesting that you possibly are committing a serious federal felony. And what ? His logic, so you put in 95% gold instead of 99%, to save. Come on man this, what kind of fool would do that with their name and company on the line. This isn't 1800 where little mom and pop makers were making fake coins out of lower karat gold, or out of another PM.

Humm, I took that previous video that you mentioned as something was going on here. I didn’t take it as he was calling you a fraud. I have one on those Sigmas, and I’m glad we got a little more instruction on their use. I’m also glad that this helped you fix your manufacturing process. You have to realize that us common collectors can’t afford a $40k XRF, and I’m sure it also has a disclaimer in it’s manual. I realize that you are trying to run a business and felt personally attacked, but I think you could have addressed this in a more professional manner.

You say in your post you didn't take it as he was calling PG&G a fraud, but that's your own opinion and it holds little weight as just one person among many potential customers because anyone else watching that video may jump to a different conclusion without doing any research and just assume there is an issue with the Gold products offered by PG&G. If a video like that is gonna be posted on-line then every avenue of testing should have been exhausted and all the data should have been ready to be presented to make a case. Obviously that's not what occurred and that's an issue. David's reputation, his business, and products were thrown into doubt because of that video. David explained the situation thoroughly in 3 separate videos, showed the equipment he uses to xray his metals, proved with the xray spectrometer that his Gold Rounds and bars were 100% 24 karat Gold, went through the sigma's manual outlining pages of limitations, did numerous tests on the verifier to show its inaccuracies, has offered to buy back/exchange pieces from customers, and stated numerous times he stands by his products. I think he responded appropriately.

@@anthonyg.3503 I thought the video was quite clear. There are some issues with those 2 rounds he has when tested by his Sigma. Fortunately, David has taken some steps to help us collectors by fixing his manufacturing process. If I purchase those rounds from another stacker, I want to be able to test them personally, and unfortunately I don't have a $30k-$40k XRF gun which apparently has its issues too. These videos have helped better the process for us.

The bottom line is. The machine is only as good as the training.thr person who is using one has. Combined with their knowledge. When a person claims to approach you to do an educational video to educate and inform. And you give information.to do just that. And they instead go on to attack not only your product. Other products you make. Infer businesses have dropped me and attack my business relationships with other vendors. And then claim I threatened his life. The guy is a pack of lies and a click bait con artist. Bottom line. And he will be delt with appropriately and legally.

Don't learn from this guy. He's not using it properly. You have to cover the sensor head. You have to use the calibration disc if it's too thin like his early strikes. The Indonesian bar is showing bad because he didn't cover the head. Of course not putting it on flat will change the reading. It's a resistivity sensor.....
