After a bit of experimenting and a lot of reading I've come up with the best solution for strengthening my resin 3D prints. This video shows you what I use to make my prints stronger.

OMG thx so much for that share! in my country that stuff cost a liver 85$/kg but it well worth it and ive found that with esun pla pro resin 100ml is more than enough. And after plenty of testing it does not affect the accuracy at all. And if it wasn't enough in my case my print got from 30sec /4s exposure time to a 25s/3.6s

That’s such a great comment for me. It’s so awesome to see some of my knowledge working for others too. Ps that resin is like £65 here so a bit more expensive than you but so so worth it.

I just use Sunlu ABS like resin it's cheap like $48 for 2000ml bottle and it's strong enough that spear shafts and such on mini's have a good bit of flex but are also still pretty stiff. It feels like plastic basically. I have played with exposure settings and there is some loss in detail compared to standard resin but it's pretty minimal if you get the exposure set right. I do find setting exposure on thicker abs like resin to be tricky however. That said for mini's it's durable and cheap.

I highly suggest you make a heated enclosure and keep it around 34-36 degrees c. It makes the prints somehow a little less brittle when printing at high speed, and cure it in a big bottle of COLD water, it will keep the model from overheating when curing and becoming brittle. The oxygen in the air keeps resin from curing correctly, and the water helps the uv bounce around into crevices better. My minis literally bounce with this setup.

Damn that's a solid tip. That's a huge difference! Do you just use this on smaller prints or do you use that mix on larger prints also?

I use it for anything that’s commissioned. And if I have the spare money I’ll use it for personal things big and small but it is a bit more expensive

new to printing, but just ordered a bottle of flexible. I mainly print 30/40k minitures, and i look forward to see how the detail holds. Im running a phrozen sonic 8k mighty, with their aqua 8k gray, and My prints (post primed) are extremely close to forge world. The game changer for my prints was lychee pro to have anti-aliasing, and messing with my resin settings and pushing my printer to 28um per layer. the prints take longer, but I wanted a stronger version. can't wait to start testing when it gets here! @@creepjack01 It helped a ton. They have some flexibility, and so they dont shatter if you drop em. basically what i do, is when i open a new bottle of the aqua 8k there is a small air gap in the bottle; i fill it almost all the way up with siraya tech tenacious. Then i shake the hell out of it. the small amount added to the standard high def resin is enough the make they less brittle and not kill the details.

@@BionMTG perfect that's what I need. It's painful to print a badass dragon or something, paint it up and then bump it with your hand reaching for dice and hear that audible "snap" as it breaks.

Does it matter if its the clear version or the grey version? Seems the grey is less expensive of the tenacious.

What about over exposure at post. I think that’s my biggest issue with breakage! Love the humor in the videos

That can be a factor but if you use tenacious or similar it will still flex no matter how far you cure it!!!

Reviewing this video I was wondering, any alternatives for Siraya Tenacious? It’s a little bit hard to get outside US :( I’ve read about Anycubic plant based or Elegoo ABS…

I was looking for tenacious and got lured into trying the Siraya tech Blu clear v2 (it was on sale). Do you know if this resin works the same? What ratio?

I don’t think it’s the same. I am not sure though. I think blu has some flex but not as much as tenacious. I heard people were mixing tenacious and blu.

I use Blu +fast in about an 80/20 mix fast to Blu. It's not a flexible as tenacious but you prints will be a LOT less brittle

I don’t think that’s a good idea. It’s not water washable at all perhaps look for abs like water washable if you want extra strength

this might be a obvious answer, but do u need to use tenacious resin, like u said its very expensive, for me i would need to order from overseas , can u get away with another brand of flexible resin, my guess is yes, only seen people use the tenacious resin

I would say you can do this with any flexible resin. All it’s doing is giving the resin more flex so it’s less brittle.

For smoky black siraya tech what do you recommend for bottom exposure and normal exposure?

I’d recommend running exposure tests. There’s just no way I could tell you the exposure time as this would be different depending on so many things. Best thing to do is print some ameralabs towns to find your exposure
