Hello again everyone, today we’ll be making some beautiful, unscented Castile soap in a slab. Coloured with the beautiful neutral Australian white kaolin clay with a green spirulina swirl. It is an ultra-gentle and mild recipe made with 85% Australian extra virgin olive oil (my favourite)
I hope you enjoy the video, Thanks for watching and happy soaping!

Great video George. People must have really not liked that metal spoon!!😮 Love the colors and the swirl. The swirl reminds me of marble. Gorgeous. Thank you for sharing. I think this was the first recipe I ever made. Or very close to it. It makes a lovely soap. ❤

George my guy! Wonderful video. The bar looks great! I did do a bar with predominately olive oil and it never really hardened after 4 weeks cure, they started sweating getting slimy during rainy/humid weather. As you describe it got mushy and slimy in the bath. I decided to rebatch it add some Kaolin clay and sodium lactate, so hoping they harden, but not very hopeful. Will update the group on fb about it though.The soap is really nice though beyond these issues. I will try this one but I will have to source the additives mentioned. Happy soaping❤

Thanks Luanne, glad you think so, loving the nice green. Ahh yes they can behave that way also, they take a long time to cure properly. It's good to at least add 5% of a hard oil, like coconut or shea, or can do 5% shea, 5% coconut, 5% cocoa butter and 5% castor (80% olive), I have tried that combo in the past, very nice and gentle. Sky is the limit really. I think you'll have some luck with the rebatch the sodium lactate will help harden it a lot. I'll watch out for your update in the group. Much gratitude ☺🙏

Also, such a lovely soap. Really like the spirulina swirls. Was your reasoning, with mulitiple additions of the spirulina, to achieve a specific shade of green? And, were YOU pleased with the look? I, personally, found it just lovely! AND, sorry....are you making this ,now, in preparation of winter coming on, which means dry skin?

Thank you. Correct a specific shade of green and wanted to try something new. I have an oil infusion video end of month. Testing all the others like indigo, alkanet etc. Going to be fun. Really loving the green. I make these bars all the time they are a staple in my range, they are beautiful and gentle 🙏

Hi nice bar of soap 😊 Do you find citric acid drying at 1%?
@DawnOrganics
@DawnOrganics Год назад
Thank you, yes I find sodium citrate drying at 1%, replacing it with 1% sodium gluconate does the trick

@@DawnOrganics Ok thank you. 😊 It's hard to find Sodium Gluconate in the UK. Maybe I will leave our a chelator. The water in my area is only slightly hard so might be ok. 🤞

Hi 👋 I have a question for you ☺️How long do these need to cure? ☺️ I’m still in my first year of soap making & am always looking for really good bars of soap for dry/sensitive skin. My current fav recipe uses 22% olive oil, but I have not gone higher, thus far ☺️I can use them in 4 to 6 weeks. Thank you in advance!! And as always, I love your soap making & the information you provide!! 🥰

Hi there, these are ready at the 4 week mark, I use a very steep water discount. I don't make pure olive oil soaps because they're to soft, slimy to use and take months to properly cure. These bars are great for dry and sensitive skin. Thanks for the kinds words and for watching my content 😁😊🙏
