Thank you. Hill running (especially the downhills) on trails likely to cause less injuries compared to road running. Running slow and steady rather fighting against the hill is what will get you to the top.

As an individual who does mostly trails, hills are our friends. A technique that I employ when tackling hills is to relax. It makes it more comfortable and feels much easier than when stiffening up and trying to force your way up the hills. This works for both road and trails.

And of course nothing wrong in taking a day off. I now take every monday off. It doesn't seem to help physically but mentally it is a good thing i can feel

I reduce my strike length and increase cadence on hills..

Hey I have a question which is off topic. Recently I have noticed my ankle and lower calf hurt when I run slow around 6:20/km pace but when I run fast it’s completely fine. The only difference I would think of is the shoe I’m wearing or my running cadence when running slow is in the mid to low 150s. Any tips to improve ?

Try working on a higher cadance and put more work into strength Training. Core and lower back as well as legs . Squats, lunges forward and reverse
