WOW had no idea you could do this in a cricut! How exciting, just one more thing to add to the list when hinting to hubby how a cricut can not only help our Coffee Shop with putting quotes on coffee cups, quotes or even decals of coffee, latte cups with specials ect. Now I can use it for the great side of the business, cookies popcorn, home made fudge lol. Maybe with seeing this would help he will finally get the hint ha ha

Hi there I just came across your video. Thank you so much for sharing. Awesome idea. Could I do this instead of using a projector ? Maybe do this and then pipe outline and flood ? I do not have a projector and have monogram cookies to do for my daughters weddings. Any thoughts on this ?
@sugarbeezllc
@sugarbeezllc Год назад
Hi Ronda, you could do this instead of piping. It will create a very nice monogram, much like stenciling, but with out all the “bridges” needed to keep the middle of letters from falling out!
@rondamccaskey1141
@rondamccaskey1141 Год назад
@@sugarbeezllc I’m not sure if it would look crazy or not piping over the stenciled letter. I need the dimension on the cookie. I will be piping flowers also. Thank you for your speedy reply. 😁
@sugarbeezllc
@sugarbeezllc Год назад
@@rondamccaskey1141 The only way to know for sure, is try one. I would screen print the lettering and pipe the flowers, those will give the cookie dimension.

I'm just starting my Cricut/stencil journey. Is there a difference between Iron on vinyl and HTV?? what is a carrier sheet? does everything have it?
@sugarbeezllc
@sugarbeezllc Год назад
Hi Jennifer! Iron on is HTV (heat transfer vinyl). The carrier sheet is the clear acetate the vinyl comes attached to. All HTVs come on a carrier sheet. Hope that helps!

Really like the idea of these silkscreen stencils better than the Mylar ones. Is there any concern with the HTV being food safe?
@sugarbeezllc
@sugarbeezllc 2 года назад
No, there is no issue with it being food safe. You can google it.

Hello Tracy, Thank you for sharing, did you mirror your images?
@sugarbeezllc
@sugarbeezllc 4 года назад
C Lope No, I didn’t mirror my image. I’m not particular about which side I use to screen through so I quit mirroring my image (or actually I just forget to mirror my image).
@hollydavis8644
@hollydavis8644 4 года назад
@@sugarbeezllc wont the vinyl only adhere one way? maybe that particular item didn't need to be mirrored?
@sugarbeezllc
@sugarbeezllc 4 года назад
Holly Davis Yes, it only adheres one way, however, you can screen either with the vinyl against the cookie or the screen against the cookie. It’s a personal preference. So experiment

How do you care for the stencils after use? I see a lot of videos on making and using them. But none about care after.
@sugarbeezllc
@sugarbeezllc 2 года назад
So glad you asked! I simply wash with warm soapy water and then dry it off with a paper towel. I store them in sheet protectors in a binder. Hope this helps you!
@Amber-wm5ix
@Amber-wm5ix 2 года назад
@@sugarbeezllc it does thank you! Have you noticed different heat transfers not respond well to washing or if they peel off the mesh after washing?
@sugarbeezllc
@sugarbeezllc 2 года назад
@@Amber-wm5ix I haven’t had an issue with it peeling off. It could be it needs more heat/time when you apply it to the mesh.

curious why you use HTV vs just 651 vinyl
@sugarbeezllc
@sugarbeezllc 2 года назад
I just happened to have HTV on hand and when I did have a chance to use 651, after washing and a couple uses it would sometimes lift up.

@mrsbossy6600

Just to understand, the cricut cuts out the image spaces from the HTV so the RI can go through the screen?
@sugarbeezllc
@sugarbeezllc 2 года назад
Yes, that’s exactly right. Then you press the htv to silk screen before using it as a stencil.

@@sugarbeezllc I don’t have a heat press, is there anything else I could use in place of that?

how many times are you able to use it? are they washable?
@sugarbeezllc

Holly Davis They are washable. I have a client that I have been using the same screen to make their cookies for a year. I just wash it with warm water and dish soap and then hang it to dry. I store them in a binder in sheet protectors.

What icing consistency do you use? I made a stencil with the mesh linked and the icing doesnt seem to be going through it.
@sugarbeezllc
@sugarbeezllc 2 года назад
The icing needs to be about a soft peak consistency. Try thinning your icing a little bit.
