I thank you for posting this. If my wife tries to open the drawer and the front pops off one more time after i "repair" it...even the dog won't escape the wrath.

I definitely would prefer to install the bottom into a dado slot vs using a rabbet.

I'd have cut off the back lip on the draw and remade a bottom panel to slide back into the groove then added a cleat to hold that in place on the back draw wall driving screw into the back end wall of the draw yes you could have used 1/4" plywood or even 1/2" if you put a dado in the edges. you could have used a stacked dado set to rough off the lip on the back or a router table. you should look up "Quarter Quarter Quarter draws" on youtube they are built better and will last longer.

That's a PM 66, correct? Any info on that splitter you had installed?

1:14 - “Start by cutting a 1/2” rabbet in the sides of the long pieces so they can accept the front & the back” That is not what I’m seeing in the sketches from the plans. The only cut in the long pieces is for the drawer bottom slot. But I doubt he’s wrong and I’m right so what I’m I missing?

use a router table with a 3/4" dado bit to cut the rabbet in 1 pass and run a groove for the bottom not a rabbet its much stronger

A great simple way to make a drawer, but people that have a table saw and a dado set probably should be able to figure this out by themselves.
