When I was in Scotland on holiday, we stayed in some church that had been converted into a hotel & restaurant. Quite near Balmoral, but named something else which I’ve forgotten. They had smoked haddock with poached egg on the breakfast menu. I remember thinking: who the hell eats that for breakfast? Since my wife tried haggis (for breakfast!?!?) I decided to go for the fish. And what a pleasant surprise that was! Lovely. And this looks lovely too!
Just looked this up after reading a blog post of my good friend Mike Warner ( A Passion for Seafood)… just Aldi haddock available though… ( my cat is looking at me hopefully 😂)
