Thank you for this series! I have touched on soldering but am not comfortable yet. These videos have helped a lot. I have to say I enjoyed ALL the videos and how to that I watched from Beaducation. You guys are AWESOME!!!
Sorry for the late reply. I never saw this comment! I think it got lost in the cracks. I would use dead soft for 2 reasons 1) you want the wire malleable enough to make it into the ring shape and have it stay put rather than be hard and springy 2) when you solder, it will fully soften the metal so starting with half hard would just get softened right back out
The video references the inner diameter listings for ring sizes but they are not on the chart listed. Is there another chart or other reference material for that info? Thanks!
The chart has more rounded number. Multiplying by pi will give you slightly different numbers depending on how deep you go into the decimals of pi (and how deep you go into the decimals of wire thickness). 56.5 and 56.95 are close enough to give you the same result (size 6)
Not shown in the video, but Aisha explains how to add texture or design to the finished ring. You place it on the mandrel and work over the leather sand bag. Remember that it can expand the size of your ring a little.
