Need more storage space for your shoes ? This simple lazy susan idea has inspired me to create a mobile shoe storage/rack that will make the most out of even the smallest of spaces.
This is a brilliant design. I always read comments before asking questions. I noticed you included alll measurements and # of pieces in a comment so that was addressed. I also noticed you aren't in my country so I cannot reasonably plan a road trip to purchase one from you. I love building projects but i recently broke my shoulder so no power tools for me for at least a year. At 73 bones heal slowly. (I was fortunate I didn't break a hip!) If I can recover enough strength and flexibility I might build 3 - I have 2 dear friends that I would enjoy gifting them their own shoe/purse storage. Thank you for sharing your design. I'm sorry to hear about your broken shoulder , I pray you have a speedy recovery,,,thanks for the lovely compliment , & I really appreciate you subscribing to my channel , regards Wally 🙏
Depending at what level you're at (Woodworking).....with patience & planning this project is achievable at intermediate level , buying the round profiles at discount price was an advantage in my case... sorry I don't sell any of my projects at this time ,,,, regards Wally
Thanks , The diameter (circular) pieces(9) featured in my video =600mm, 23.6''...... 700mm-27.6 inch would have been ideal ! (16) small dividers= 250mm X150mm (9.8'' X 5.9'') .. (4) Bottom dividers= 330mmX250mm...(13'' X 9.8'' )
Hi John , I bought the Castor wheels at my local hardware store. , if you have floorboards , I suggest you get rubber wheels ! I'm sure you can purchase almost anything online , but I like to have things in my hand before I buy, cheers mate !
Great question ! I marked then drilled (4) holes using the Bearing Plate as a profile , ''sorry I did not video this '' , I then added (4) screws from underneath 9:48 second round . I filed the (4) screws to make the tips flat '' again sorry I did not video this" I then fixed the Bearing Plate 10:00 to the top round section, then carefully aligned both the top round to the second round 10:10 allowing the tip of the screws to sit in the allocated holes (Bearing Plate)...The click noise telling me both are locked in position .....to remove the top - simply wriggle the top side by side ,,, it will click to let you know it's free ...this allows you to transport the shoe rack easier ...ie upstairs...or to a family member by car... Regards Wally..
