Here's an easy recipe to make delicious sprouted wheat bread at home!
Sprouted wheat bread is really easy to make! Compared to regular bread, it’s higher in amino acids (protein), fiber, vitamins B, C, E and beta-carotene (the latter 3 are also anti-oxidants which protect against chronic diseases like diabetes, cancer, heart disease). Plus it’s low in gluten, so it's easier to digest! Here's how to make it:
1) Sprout the wheat berries by soaking them, rinsing them, and leaving them in a jar for a day or two. Then blend or otherwise grind it into dough.
2) Add sourdough culture and one cup of whole wheat, and fold them in.
3) Let it rise for one hour, then fold it again.
4) Oil a bread pan, then dust it with flour.
5) Pour in your dough, and let it yet again.
6) Sprinkle sesame seeds on top, and bake it for one hour at 180 C.
