How to Make the Most of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party 2022

It's peak Halloween season at Walt Disney World! So this week's episode of TouringPlans Teaches walks you through what you need to know about the special Halloween Party taking place at Magic Kingdom most nights between now and the end of October.
This is a special-ticket event that runs from 7 pm to midnight. But you're also able to enter the Magic Kingdom as early as 4 pm. In this video we cover a strategy for making the most of your night, but also tips about entertainment, characters, trick-or-treating and more.

I went last night and followed this plan and you were so spot on. Jingle Cruise posted 45 minutes at 4, waited 25. Big Thunder and Splash both had 15-20 minutes wait before party. Watched parade, fireworks, and villain spectacular from the hub and had amazing seats. Best time ever! Thanks for the tips!

Love this strategy. Where would you put the Ariel/Eric or Belle/Gaston in the priority list if you have kiddos that really want to meet them? Are they as much of a heavy wait as Pooh and Friends?

I'm enjoying these videos so much! I never expected for someone to get on the amount of attractions you have listed for the party. I can't wait to see how you organize MVMCP, especially since you can't trick or treat and the character meet & greets demand don't quite meet Jack and Sally.

Thanks so much! This video was supremely helpful to us on 10/31! We saved TorT for 10:30 & walked right through in Tomorrowland - and our bags were FULL!! Great night! Only suggestion is to alert folks that by going to Pirates b4 7pm you’ll miss the live actors. We went back again after 7p, and was definitely our fav “overlay” (which were weak overall IMHO). Midnight sage show was epic, and we accidentally caught the last 2/3 of the final parade (but 100% of the first one). Much appreciated from a fellow Missourian!

Just curious how you would approach if you were doing BOTH a regular park day AND the Not So Scary Halloween Party? .. Would you use a party day touring plan and follow that for the regular park day part, but during the party, pretty much treat rides as optional and focus more on the special party events / character meets?, Stack G+ or just churn during the regular day? skip rope drop since you will be there for the party? .. Thanks for this video, its helpful as always .. but just was curious where your thoughts were if you were planning on doing both ..

If it was me (and this isn't everyone). I'd follow the party day strategy for the day time, and then focus on party during the party. Meet more characters, wander around more, get more pictures taken, etc. Good question!

October 12, on the other hand, is an extended evening hours day for DVC and Deluxe. I wonder if just an evening visit makes sense on that day.

I wish I had this guide for when I went to the party on Sept 2nd. Hopefully some of this will translate well for the Christmas Party. I didn't realize when I booked, but I'll be there for the very first one, so going in essentially fully blind. Maybe I'll meet & get photos with some favorite vloggers, since I'm sure almost every channel will be there.

Do the live actor additions only appear after party starts in pirates ride?

I had a question on the special overLayes rides. Do we immediately go up as it hits 7. Or do the special actors for example in pirates or the ghosts in cue for haunted mansion are there the whole day? We really want to see the ride over lays and the special stuff in pirates and haunted mansion. When should we plan to get in line for them? Like as it turns 7?

Great plans. This actually was released on the day we had tickets to the party! We used the plan successfully and only had one thing to add. My wife has DAS and we were shown by a cast member how to use it for the party. It's slightly different than during a regular day. Instead of using the DAS tile on the app, go through the tip board. Choose a specific ride and it will offer a DAS return line. Hope everyone enjoys the party as much as we did.

I know it has already been asked a few times, but how would you adjust this strategy if seeing the rides with the overlays is a priority (over hitting more rides)? If I'm understanding, this strategy misses the live actors in PotC, the live actors in the Haunted Mansion cue, and the overlay for Mad Hatters Tea Party (our kid's favorite ride). I've also heard some of the overlays start early, like Space Mountain at 6:30. Is that true? I'm also curious if TP estimated times are accurate for parties *now*, not just when we arrive on park day? I made a TP on our party day that starts with Jungle Cruise at 4p and my plan is estimating a 43 min wait. Love your channel, app, and all your data 💜

I love the parties but I was underwhelmed by the additions of Pirates and Haunted Mansion. The live actors were great but only 2 at HM (in queue) and 3 total for Pirates (1 in queue, 2 in ride). But Space Mountain in completed darkness was amazing. The Fireworks show was perfect and the show was amazing too! I didn't see any characters because those lines were...long...yikes.

Hi Becky! This is Very Timely and Perfect for our Halloween touring on Sept 18th! I met you in Disneyland last April and I think I told you that my hubby and I were going to take our 2 13 year old grand kids to WDW in September. We are leaving next week for 3 days in Universal and a week in Disney! Can't wait!! I've started binge watching all your Videos again! You definitely hit the Parks like I do!! If I have park entry all ready for the day, do I have to leave the park when all the regular day guests do or can I stay in the park and head to the front to get a MNSSHP wrist band?

$179 per person or higher. For that kind of money, I would expect to spend all day at MK when paying $50-$60 more the the cost to spend a full day at MK. No thanks.
