Hi, Mr Hero. I used to live in Ohio for 20 years and ate at Mr Heros at least once a week. I live in California now and miss Mr Hero so kmuch. I dream about eating another Roman Burger. Whenever I visit Ohio its the first place I go. Love you guys.

I was born and raised in Parma, OH. I since moved to Florida and miss having the opportunity to have a Roman burger from Mr. Hero. My daughter and I make sure when we visit family in the Cleveland area that we get a Roman Burger!!! Mr. Hero and Antonio's pizza are the two big things I wish were here in the Tampa Bay area.

Great video - My family built and owned the Mr Hero In Willoughby in 1985 .. to help out No vinegar in the oil and spice Swiss American cheese Square Luncheon loaf Genoa salami Spanish onion Mayo only the top after you butter and toast it Pre make the bottom Shredded lettuce, two tomatoes and three onion rings Cut the luncheon meat diagonally Build your setup Luncheon meat Salami Luncheon meat Salami All slightly overlapping Put the patties, lunch meat and your premade base on the griddle Lightly salt and feather the oil and spice (btw you can buy that from Sysco foods) Flip burgers and lunch meat at the same time Add cheese and immediately build your burger on the griddle Add the top, remove from griddle and cut on 45 degree angle And enjoy

Love this!!! I grew up on Mr Hero and will sometimes make the 10 hour drive and stay the weekend just to get my Cleveland foodie fix. Romenburgers, Slymans, polish boys and a gyro from the Westside Market!

I miss these...I left North Olmsted in 1981, and the closest anyone could get to an authentic Roman Burger was Quiznos, and that was marginal at best, and you had to walk them through making it...great Job !!!

We moved to the other side of the city and no longer have a Mr. Hero nearby. Tried recipes before but it didn’t really taste anything like a Roman burger… excited to try this one tonight! I miss Mr. Hero so much!!

Yay! I’m telling you… this really tastes like it… buttering the bread makes a difference and so does the sub sauce (the Italian style herbed oil ) along with the mayo. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for putting this video together so that I can see how to make one of my favorite burgers from my childhood. I lived in North Olmsted and fell in love with the cheeseburger, but the rest of my family are huge fans of the Roman burger (also extremely delicious). Anyway I moved away from Ohio when I was a teenager, and every time I visit family, we always have to go by Mr. Hero so that I can get one of these sandwiches. Now I can make it at home. Thank you!

The cheese is American Swiss and the other meat is luncheon loaf, I think both of those are made exclusively for Mr Hero. This comes from a former manager there.

They use Swiss cheese I was told. Not sure. But it def doesn’t taste like American cheese. It has a mozzarella taste like Italian subs. I would never use American cheese. Prob not bad but it’s just got a pretty corny taste. Vs thst italiano taste ☺️
