Omg, (lol) I wholeheartedly appreciate your sarcasm, I reeeeeeeally do but ... just in case there's anyone out there who does not know, that comment about digging into the Teflon coating with a metal utensil is just a joke!! Please folks, remember that you must NEVER use any metal items on those pots, pans, trays, etc. The best items are the ones made out of sìlicone and/or wood.
Yes, it's sweet. That's what I do. I score the pan with Brillo right before cooking. Only to loosen up the top few microns of Teflon particles. It adds a sweet flavor to the food. My Papi taught me this trick.
@@gmodrules123456789 if you know what you're doing somehow that makes metal on Teflon fine? 😂😂 I never knew I had to telepathically communicate with my Teflon for it to not flake chemicals off.
hey all just wanted to say a little tip a chef told me about, she said to always add lemon at the end when its off the heat!! apparently the heat makes the lemon a little bitter and not as citrusy and fresh. she said cooking with lemon rind is ok but with lemon juice, you get the most out of it when you add it at the very end! ive been doing this and i much prefer the taste of adding the lemon juice after cooking, just a suggestion for people to try!
Hey Dano ! Much appreciate the details of squeezing the water out, before laying on paper towels. Cod is my favorite fish but disliked the sponginess of it after thawing. Thank you.
1) squeeze water out of fish on paper towels 2) coat fish with seasoning 3) non-stick pan on med temp, with a bit of oil 4) Cook one side for 4 min then flip 5) add 2 pieces of butter and squeeze lemon juice on top, let cook for another 3 min
@@bluecat6902Metal anything on a non stick pan is bad..only use plastic cookware on non-stick pans, metal ruins the coating over-time.. using metal is fine on stainless steel or cast iron though
Good for a first attempt. The “water” is full of omega 3. You can brine the fish in salt before for a day for more flavor. Then add what you want on the stove. Panko dano’s old bay garlic etc
Closer to blackened than pan seared - but all good. Careful not to over salt a piece of fish or it can taste like it’s about to turn bad. The butter has enough salt for a small piece of fish.
That was the best cod I’ve ever had!!! I got Sablefish which they told me is black cod. Please forgive me, I’m from upstate NY and one still learning. Take it easy on me!
Charming~ I just personally miss some classic, blink it and you miss it explanations that reward me for a quick eye, not a trained one like how medium heat looks like.
Next time make a compound butter w the danos original and make sure it’s ice cold and make a beurre blanc sauce slowly incorporating the cold Compound dano butter very watch how it comes together and add white wine and or lemon to cut the butter w an acid . Before adding the compound butter sear it first w regular neutral oil or shallot oil. It’s fire you will enjoy it .
Um does danos have a none spicy flavor my body is unable to handle spicy food I often make foods with spicy for my loved ones but I've seen this spice qnd I'd love to cook for it but with my stomach and palate being sensitive 🥺 I can even eat things with qlot of pepper it sucks
I owe you an apology!! I made a comment about the price about a month ago. I just wanted you to know you were correct!! They had the smaller size over the large size. Thank you for commenting on my comment because it made me go and look closer. Thank goodness because my family loves your seasonings!! Have a blessed day
Would advise you to salt the fish and let it rest on a rack before frying. The fish will have a much better consistency... My experience you A better restault and it also recommended by the Norwegian chefs. Acording to me, it will be the most important to "pay attention to the details" 👌
Couple issues with this one. Non-stick pans don't belong in kitchens, they belong in the trash. Don't season in the pan, the excess burns and adds nothing good. And also, didn't really think about the water in fish, but it makes sense, they live in water, they should be soaked in it.
