Thanks for the video. I appreciate the time you spend making them which probably takes longer than make this mash. I love this method and use it all the time. I add some dry malt extract to the pot to make a Bourbon mash. Two 16oz bottles to every gallon and a half of water. 1 lb of DMA or Malt extract syrup. I use baker’s yeast. If distilling, age it on medium toasted oak chips for about a week then filter and cut to 85 proof. Makes very good “Bourbon”. I place the corn syrup bottles in warm water to get the syrup out easier just like you would do with liquid malt extract when making beer.

Thanks for the video. All you have to do now is add crack corn just for a flavoring agent to add that old corn whiskey taste. It's not necessary but could add some corn flavoring to your mash. Thanks for sharing.

When would you add the crack corn and when would you take it out? (Asking because I don’t know any of this stuff but really want to get into it!)
@suoppsdn9751
@suoppsdn9751 4 года назад
@@brettpritchett5762 Most people don't make true moonshine any more. Most don't use malted corn. They use crack corn thinking heating it will make it produce the sugar needed for formation. True moonshine uses malted corn. When corn sprouts "Malts" It makes the starch turn into the sugars needed for fermenting. Moonshining is illegal so if you want corn whiskey taste go by everclear and soak corn in it for a week. strain out the corn and enjoy the corn whiskey flavor legally lol

What does it mean if some one has done the following but the product is not making bubbles on the airlock?
@PlattR
@PlattR 2 года назад
It could be a couple of things. If the room is too cold, the yeast will have a tough time getting started. It could be fermenting but the solution is so thick that the CO2 is trapped. Put your ear next to the container and see if you hear any kind of fizzing noise.
