Hi can you explain how tou test primary with that light bulb is that connected in serial or put some schematics because if you short live and neutral will blow the fuse in main socket. Thanks.
What's that plastic he wrapping the core in and that masking paper tape 🙄 them wud catch fire before the heat sheath ......get kapton tape🙂 hand wound, no thermal fuse on primary winding🥺😟 the amount of tape is horrendous 😂
It could have been better if you welded the E and I together so that it’ll reduce the magnetic loose also apply some epoxy in the ions core to reduce magnetic leakage. And I have a question, how did you calculate for the power rate of this transformer for you to be able to choose the size of the wire of this transformer?
A very bad idea! Cutting middle core will make crossection of the resulting 'SQUARE'(not toroid) HALF of the original core. Then twice as many turnings wil be needed with doubling of conductivity losses. It is much better to use the original E-core as is; it is already designed by engineers!
Congrats, you just lost half the power capacity of the EI core by cutting the center leg off, and made it MUCH harder to wind. Also, if you cut an EI core, you end with a UI core, which is much easier to wind the a squared "toroid". Why would you wind an UI core as a square toroid?
