How to Make Tuna Noodle Casserole - Tuna Casserole Recipe

Hello ma'am. My family and I participate in a DSA-run meal prep and food distribution effort for the homeless in my area. We try to purchase foods that are on sale so that we can make as much food as possible, and one one of my grocery runs, I came across two enormous cans of tuna (like 7 lbs each!) on steep discount because no one knows what to do with that much tuna at once. It was shortly after Thanksgiving, so a few other overstock things were on good sales as well, so, I picked up a lot of croutons, cream of mushroom soup cans, and frozen peas on top of the tuna. Someone in my group suggested tuna noodle casserole, which I had never made, and rarely gotten to eat before. I found your recipe and it seems best suited to what I had picked up, so I recalculated your recipe to account for the amount of tuna I had and then ran out to pick up whatever ingredients I was missing. My wife and I spent a whole day prepping and cooking a whole countertop full of casserole dishes (we blended the croutons for use as bread crumbs, worked great), then gathering with friends to portion it out into clamshell to-go boxes (we normally do a table at the park, but it was pouring rain, so we had to accommodate) alongside someone else's green bean casserole and some cornbread muffins. We were able to put together between 50 and 60 boxes, and there were a HIT! The people we serve were asking for the recipe, and we directed them here. I just wanted you to know that your efforts in the kitchen and on the camera lead to many hearty meals that filled and satisfied many hungry people who could use a home cooked meal, and a soul healing one at that. Thank you so much, and know that this recipe will continue to percolate throughout the service organizations in my area, doing good in ways you may have never expected. The evaporated Milk takes it to the next level. I added my own spin. I soften the onion. With minced garlic, celery and a few mini sweet peppers chopped. Top it with cheese and bread crumb mixture! Slap yr momma good! My Daughter had 2nds and hated tuna casserole!🤤

I have made this for years in our household. I add a can of peas n carrots and a can of corn. One small can of mushrooms. I sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.😋
