All-purpose flour 2 cups (250 ml per cup)
Icing sugar 1/2 cup ml)
2 tbsp vegetable oil
Salt 1/2 tsp
Nutmeg powder 1/2 tsp
Water 180ml (Room temperature)
2 Cups of vegetable oil for frying
Preparation....👩🍳
In a bowl, sift in flour+ Icing sugar, add salt and nutmeg powder, mix well to combine.
Add 2 tablespoons vegetable oil and continue mixing!
Now gradually add water bit by bit, mix together to form a soft dough but not sticky to fingers.
When you get the perfect dough texture after kneading in work surface, divide into 2 sections, set one aside, roll it into a small ball then flat it with your palm.
Roll flat with a rolling pin, trim the edge and cut in a straight line, 2cm apart.
Make sure the length can fit into your frying pan.
In a low to medium hot oil, fry the twisted dough, flip over after 3 minutes to fry on the other side.
After a few minutes, scoop out from oil when it turns golden brown, the longer you fry, the darker the chin chin will become.
place fried chin chin in a kitchen paper to absorb excess oil.
Always reduce the heat to low before frying second batch
NOTE: If you fry in very hot oil, chin chin will get brown so fast and not well cook inside.
